The Mansion {Sign-Ups}

You awake to find yourself in a dark room, the only light coming from the dim television in the center wall. You remember nothing about you save for your name. On your left wrist and stretching halfway up your forearm is a dark bracer of an unknown material. It seems almost ingrained with your flesh, unable to be removed. On the palm part sits a symbol, seeming to faintly glow with a strange light.

The television switches from a dull gray static to show a person of around 24 or so, their dark ginger hair bouncy and framing their face. They wave a bracer much the same to yours, with a black spot in the palm.

"I'm the Overseer." they say, "And like you I'm trapped in this mansion. Except, I've been here since the beginning. I've seen hundreds of groups arrive and all die in this house. I'm holding faith in you lot to help me finally escape. When the doors open head into the center room on the first floor," they explain, and over their face pops up a map with two dots on it. One red and one black. At the bottom sits a small list of instructions detailing how to get to the center room.

"You are the red dot and the black is the center room. I'm having the map printed out on the printer below this, make sure you grab it. We have a lot to discuss." the Overseer states, and with that the television flicks off filling the room with complete darkness. The sound of a printer whirring is the only notable sound.


- No Mary Sue's or God-modding
- No escaping immediately, you have to actually interact with others
- No one save for the Overseer is able to understand how to access their elemental powers, the Overseer has been here for hundreds of years making them the exception
- Max of two characters per person
- This is a semi-literate RP, please give around 2+ sentences during each response and have proper grammar and spelling
- Keep genders even, I will stop accepting characters if we have too many of one gender compared to the rest

- Stay active please, if you don't post for five days without any prior warning and I know you've been on, you will be booted and your characters/spots will be taken care of

- You can fight among others, but you cannot kill anyone
- The Overseer is one of my characters, as they are part of the experiment themselves.

Every character wears a shirt the color of the symbol on their bracer, they all have brown boots and black pants. This all stands as part of the process that put them there.

Important events, such as the discovery of an elemental power or the encountering of a creature or something similar, with be stated by me in my posts. These announcements will be made to be bolded and italicized, and will be at the very top of my posts just below the pings. It is important to read these when they show up as they might affect your character.

Each person is assigned a specific elemental ability, based on the mark on their bracer. They are able to create and manipulate that element to an extent. Although these abilities are locked away until a catalyst event occurs. After a certain point they are even able to embody their element, becoming a humanoid essence of it. Although this ability is deeply hidden away.

Aside from elemental powers, each person has levitation, telekinesis based around objects they can see and normally pick up, thought speak, and teleportation to locations they can see. These powers are available to everyone to use from the moment they wake up, although they will all be crude uses without practice.

Gender: Agender
Looks: Quin has messy and mullet like blond hair, they have blueish green eyes and are about five foot one.
Role: One of Electricity
Bracer Symbol(Shape and Color): a bright orange series of five circles in decreasing size inside one another, in the center sits a small eight pointed star.

Personality: They don't really speak all that much and they almost seem to secrete silence. Despite this they notice a lot about others and their surroundings and they tend to learn about others this way. Quin is eager to go out and help get things working and flowing right. They find a joy in being able to fix things and being able to help out.

Name: The Overseer (Neith)

Gender: Nonbinary (They/She)
Looks: The Overseer has bouncy dark ginger hair that frames their face, she has dark red amber eyes. The Overseer stands at about six foot six.
Role: One of Void
Bracer Symbol(Shape and Color): A solid vantablack circle roughly the size of a quarter.
Past(Optional): The Overseer was among the first of the groups dropped into the mansion. They were the first of their group to discover their elemental abilities, and so they quickly took to perfecting this. As their group started to thin down as a result of the traps and creatures lurking in the mansion the Overseer realized that they weren’t ready to die, and so they used their power to seal them away from aging. Healing their wounds quickly, and surviving through hundreds of groups showing up, and being killed off. Despite a group never surviving for a long period of time, the Overseer chooses to try and help those she can, knowing in her heart that one day there will be enough people to help them escape.
Personality: The Overseer is snappish, and often reserved. They have long since learned that others will die while they live, and so they tend not to make friends easily. The Overseer is not the most social, although they will often be glad to help others they never really interact over an extended time span with others.
Other: Fantasy. The Overseer chooses not to give out their name as they believe that it brings people too close together.

Name: Claudia Donovan
Age(16 and above): 18
Gender: Female
Looks: Claudia stands at 5"6' and has very short and straight red hair that ends at her chin that has one strip of dyed purple hair on the side. She has pale skin and light brown eyes, there are a few scars on her neck, but she isn't sure where they came from. She also has three thick claw like scars reaching from her left shoulder to the small of her back.
Role: One of Poison
Bracer Symbol(Shape and Color): It's a dark purple splash symbol that looks to be rimmed with a darker purple that makes it look like it's sinking into her hand.

Personality: Claudia is very headstrong and determined, she is also a curious, borderline intrusive individual. She is secretly self conscious about many things, but keeps them to herself so she doesn't come off as weak. She is the master of technology and (though she doesn't remember it) she was nicknamed 'Hacker' by friends. She is sarcastic at times and usually uses it to lighten the mood or not show that she cares about something when she really does.

Looks: Todd has shaggy light blonde hair that reaches the nape of his neck and has hazel eyes that usually appear a goldish green with brown specks. He stands at about 6"1' and wears thin framed glasses and has one ear pierced on his left. His skin is lightly tan but still quite fair in color.

Bracer Symbol(Shape and Color): His symbol is a sun that has different shades of yellow stringing off the sides that are made of bright yellow.

Personality: Todd is a chatty, charismatic person. To anyone who doesn't know him really really well, he is just a smiley, kind person who doesn't worry about anything. But, deep down he is quite self aware and any comment against him, joking or not, he takes to heart. He's always the peace maker of any group and is a pacifist, so no matter how much of a chicken it makes him, he'd much rather let others fight for him.

@runa There's quite a bit of information in the rules that you left out. Can you re-read them and edit accordingly? Can I ask what "emo hair" means as well?

Gender: Is it okay for her to be transgender? (She prefers being called she/her though)
Looks: Tan skin with blue green eyes. She has black waist length hair, and a narrow face. Venus usually wears black leather boots, black leggings, and a black leather jacket. Since her jacket is usually zipped up, Venus doesn't really care what shirt she wears inside of it.
Role: One of Darkness
Bracer Symbol: Black swirls of other animals making up a narrow cat's face with sharp, piercing green eyes.
Past: ???
Personality: sharp and quick witted, although she has a rather short temper. Venus is mostly quiet and doesn't like to share secrets. She is usually violent with people who attack her, even if it was unintentional.

Name: Griffin
Age(16 and above): 18
Gender: Male
Looks: He stands at about six feet and has slightly pale skin. His shaggy hair is some what curly and has a copper brown color to it. Freckles spread over the bridge of his nose and onto his cheeks, as well as a few on his arms. Griffin's eyes hold a light grey color however his eyesight is poor, burdening him with glasses that have black frames and are probably a little too big for his face.
Role: One of Water
Bracer Symbol(Shape and Color): The symbol consists of a silver trident surrounded by tribal like wave that are different shades of blue
Past(Optional): Classified (AKA I have no idea 😋)
Personality: Griffin is way too optimistic for his own good. He has always found a way to see the good in everything, always looking at the bright side. However this can also create problems as Griffin can sometimes confuse a dangerous situation for a disheartening one. This can cause him to think others are being pessimistic when they are really just being cautious, leading him to act first and think later or not thinking of the consequences at all. Griffin chooses to completely ignore negative comments, whether true pessimism or not, and can say things that are not appropriate during certain situations (Example: Saying "At least we're still alive!" when someone just died). He truly doesn't do this on purpose to make anyone upset and doesn't understand how he sounds when he does. This being stated, if confronted about it Griffin just ends up confused. His nature is social, friendly, and carefree. He might seem a bit much to some, but Griffin really does try to be the best he can be. Though he isn't too good with emotions (he doesn't quiet understand sadness), his main goal is simply to make everyone happy. It is near impossible to make him snap or angry. When he does however, he goes into full rage.
Other: Suspense is his favorite book genre. For movies Griffin prefers what are commonly called "kids' movies" such as animated movies from Disney or DreamWorks. Also, as carefree as Griffin is, he can absolutely not stand feeling trapped or controlled. He hates being forced to do something against his will and fears tight spaces, he gets claustrophobic. Situations that cause Griffin to feel any of these things start to make him panic, going as far as making him spazz out.
