Long time no see- uh talk? Type? ...

ANYWAY, I saw that we could pick what kind of rock we want to be and I really like the idea! I'm going to have to explain mine a little though so here goes.

Labradorite. Now I know what will pop up if you look it up. OH no. I'm not talking about the pretty, polished mineral. Nope. I'm referring to labradorite that is still in the rock. When it still looks like any other rock that you would find on the side of the road and most people will toss it aside. Yep! That's the one!

There's actually a reason I love labradorite so grab your waffles (personally I prefer pancakes) and get comfy because it's Story Time With Pitch!
The reason I love it so much is because I've had a real life experience with it. I'm not sure if your school ever did this, but for an extremely frustrating unit in Earth Science called the Rock Cycle/Rock Unit which was surprisingly hard we did get to do one fun thing. A lady came and gave us bags of sand with rocks and minerals in them and in about forty degrees Fahrenheit, or about 4.44444 degrees Celsius for most people, we went outside to freezing cold water and went panning. It wasn't fun at the time because I was to busy complaining how cold it was, but still.

So as students were talking about frostbite and Quarts diorite, we slowly became more and more amazed by what we found in our bags. Me? My teacher had already told us about labradorite so I was on the hunt for that. The lucky girl my friend was, she found one. She looked at it for a second and almost tossed it in the pile of regular rocks that were also put in the bags, but I think it was one of the teachers that came by and told her what it was. Naturally she kept it. I never found one so after getting back to the classroom, like everyone else, I started trading with others for rocks and minerals I didn't have. Eventually I confronted my friend to ask her if she wanted to trade for the labradorite. She said she already had one at home so I could have it for any rock I wanted to trade for it. I still have it along with all the other rocks I got that day... unless my mom threw them away without telling me which would make me sad. Actually, after I post this I'm going to go check because now I'm paranoid.
