Leaf of Valka Question

I'm thinking about saving up for the Leaf of Valka but I want to know one thing first. Does the Leaf of Valka last forever or does it go away at a certain time?

Yep, it lasts forever, as long as it's in your inventory or stongroom.

Can you send to others, but still last forever?

I'm pretty sure if you trade/send it to someone else, it no longer would protect your cove, and only feed the recipient's cove.

Does it, feed your creatures, or act like the creature is immortal, or what?
