The Rebellion of Wyvern's Court {Sign-ups}

It has been five years since Queen Diana moved into the throne of Wyvernhallow. Five years since an uprising placed the noble family Willowbury on the throne. Five years since the former rulers were killed before their people. Five years since Queen Diana declared a public ban on all magic within the kingdom of Wyvernhallow. Five years since the last kingdom that allowed magic turned against the mystic force.

In those five years anyone caught performing magic was captured and either executed or imprisoned for life. Most magic users fled the Shattered Isles, hoping to find solace in some other reign of land amongst the Stormbent Seas. Those that stayed hid their magic. Only performing it in secret amongst others like them. Many took on other jobs around the town as farmers, blacksmiths, jesters, thieves, healers, knights, guards and the like. Hoping to blend in and not be killed for a slip up.

Yet as two newcomers enter Wyvern's Court something shifts on the winds and magic starts to bubble at the ends of the city. Threatening to forever alter the way of life forced upon these citizens.


Wyvern's Court is the capital of Wyvernhallow, the largest kingdom in the Shattered Isles. It is home to the great Castle Dower, which houses Queen Diana and her son and heir Prince Johnathan.

The city itself is divided into four parts, the Outlying a place just outside the walls of the castle where the farms are located, the Lower District where the shops, stalls and farming houses are, the Central District a mostly residential district with a large open courtyard where ceremonies and festivals are held, and the Upper District where the guard and knights quarters are located alongside the training field and castle.

-No unnecessary caps, punctuation or drama
-Everything on the form is required
-The basics of a plot is already hashed out, but if you have plot lines or ideas i am always open to seeing and possible incorporating them
-You are allowed to be former nobility or citizens from other kingdoms, but I control the royalty of Wyvernhallow
-Max of eight characters per person
-Put your characters theme song in other
-This is a semi-medieval type world, they have swords and bows but no guns, set in a 1200 time space with clothing options closer to the 1800s
-Magical marks are necessary for magic users
-All discovered magic users run the risk of execution or imprisonment. There aren't really any exceptions.
-A character can only be one type if magic user at any given time.


Magical marks appear anywhere on the body, are always black in coloration and show what brand of magic a user holds. They tend to be as large as a fingernail. Magic users can detect others by the scent they carry, while most humans are unable to detect this, a magic users affinity to the magical and arcane makes these scents more potent and definable

Witches/Wizards Magic users commonly represented by a mark of two crossed and overlapping C's. They are able to cast spells, and perform incantations. They must say the spells for them to work. They carry a scent of lemons and mint. As with most magic users their eyes take on a burnt orange color when performing magic.

Werebeasts Magic users represented by a three pointed star. They are able to take on the form of one, two or three creatures depending on heritage. One is the most common and can appear in people not of werebeast heritage, two can occur by two werebeasts parents. It is painfully rare for a werebeasts to have three forms as this requires a comparable hybrid to have been bred. Each werebeast can take on a human form, beast form, and half form which is a mix of human and beast. They carry a scent of treacle and honey. Their eyes have a silver ring around the pupil in all forms.

Vampires Magic users represented by a circle spot. They are most powerful at night, and are able to venture out into the light, although not without severe sumbruns to uncovered skin. They are able to perform spells, and can walk in the dreams of others. They tend to get most of their nutrition from fresh and raw meats, specifically the blood, but can eat regular food if needed albeit in massive amounts to gain the necessary energy. They carry a scent of clean water and cold air. Their eyes are typically a very dark blue or green with pink stained whites.

Sorcerers/Sorceresses Magic users represented by a three tailed spiral. They are perhaps the rarest of all magic users, and are able to perform spells, incantations and summoning. As well as having the ability to do this in a nonverbal manner. They carry the scent of smoke and rain. Their eyes turn burnt orange when performing magic, although their eyes usually have a burnt orange ring around their eyes already.


There are multiple jobs available, and there really is no limit to what you can be. So long as it fits the time period and location setting. The jobs listed below are special jobs that only a single person can hold. Italics mean it is taken.

Skarra Skarra is ruled by King Donald, a brute of a man who was wed to a secret sorceress who was killed upon discovery of her magic. He had two children, Prince Jackson and Princess Jasmine. His son soon became the ambassador of Skarra to Wyvernhallow, and his daughter was killed by bandits when travelling to the coast.

Looks: A rather short woman, she has long black hair constantly placed up in a bun. Her eyes are a deep brown and she seems to have a perpetual angry look on her face.
Clothing: She wears long extravagant dresses in various colors. She tends to wear enough jewelry to send the poor out of poveverty is she sold it, and she wears full arm white gloves.
Living Area: Castle Dower
Past: She was born to a noble family and was wed at a young age to her late husband Matthew, who was from a fellow noble family. She bore a single son before her husband died at the hands of a wizard. From the moment she remarried, to a wizard who promised her power, she was set on wiping them from the kingdom. After her husband led a rebellion and overtook the throne she killed him, and promptly declared magic forbidden and began to kill or imprison all who violated this rule. The entire time she raised her son carefully, lest he believe magic is good in some form.
Personality: She's cold, and hostile. She carries grudges for longer than should be necessary and she tends to become overworked over simple things. She harbors a perpetual hatred for magic.
Other: Purple Tyrant - Kevin Grant. She plays more of a background role as I will rarely directly control her unless necessary.

Wizard/Witch/Vampire/Sorcerer/Sorcereress
Name: Quin Tervick
Age: 230 (Looks about 23 or 24)
Gender: Female
Job: Silkwoman (A woman who makes things out of silk)
Looks: Quin is pale and freckled on her cheeks and nose, although her arms bear a few, as well. Standing at about five six, she walks briskly and with near perfect posture. Her eyes are a very dark blue with pink tinted whites. To see a smile on Quin is next to impossible. Wavy, dirty blonde hair that borders on light brown reaches the middle of her back when let down. However, she prefers to pull back the hair on the sides of her head, save a few short strands up front, into a large, messy bun. The hair on the back of her head is left down and any side strands Quin missed are weaved back into the bun or pushed behind her ear.
Clothing: A black cloak that has an attached hood is typically worn by Quin. The hood is always up, providing shade to her face. Underneath her cloak is a white topped dress that has a collared neck. The bottom is black and lightly brushes against the ground when she walks. The bottom also has two layers. The inner one that is left down and the outer layer that is split down the front, tightly pulled back into a short train that doesn’t reach the ground. Overall, the bottom of her dress is similar to a 1800s maid’s dress, but without the apron (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/78/George_Goodwin_Kilburne_The_new_arrangement.jpg). When not wearing a cloak, Quin uses a black decorative umbrella that has dark blue lace on it. Short, black leather boots are her usually shoes and are slightly heeled. She always has white gloves on her hands.
Living Area: Quin takes residence in the Central District.
Magic Type(Vampire, witch, wizard etc): Vampire
Mark Placement: Her mark is on her left side, a few inches above her hip.
Past: Born into the silk business, she quickly found herself in her parents’ footsteps and continued to run the shop when both supposedly died of old age. This fact is false however, as both were vampires which resulted in them being immortal. Truth is they were killed by vampire slayers when Quin was 190 years old (looking about 19), but spread said false fact to protect herself from being discovered.
Personality: Quin is very cold and a serious aura surrounds her. Despite this, she is amiciable enough to those who are friendly to her first. Anyone that is rude toward her, she completely ignores or, if absolutely necessary, Quin will acknowledge them, but with a sharp edge to her voice. The woman is mainly to herself and can be mistakenly classified as introverted. Quiet, but not shy, she prefers to avoid other. Quin absolutely hates physical contact, flinching when touched.

Name: Prince Jackson "Jack" Mornwillow
Age: 21 years
Gender: Male
Job: Prince of Skarra/Ambassador from Skarra
Looks: Jack has messy light brown hair, green eyes and stands around five eleven.
Clothing: He wears a simple blue shirt with a brown jacket holding the Skarra emblm, and brown pants. Underneath the shirt is a chain mail shirt, and around his waist is a sword belt holding a single sword bearing the Skarra emblem.
Living Area: Lower rooms of Castle Dower
Past: Jack was born into the royal family in Skarra and was the Prince, his mother was discovered to have been a sorceress when Jack and his twin sister were 18, and she was promptly executed for her magic. Later that same year his sister was killed in a bandit raid, forcing his father to send Jack to Wyvernhallow as an ambassador in hopes to keep the heir to the throne safe.
Personality: Jack is bitter, and very watchful. He rarely ever does anything without first thinking over the consequences of his actions, but that isn't to say he never does anything. He tends to disregard any and all consequences often doing what he wants from a situation.

Looks: Summer has messy brown hair that's usually in a bun, blue eyes and freckles. She is quite tall.
Clothing: Summer usually wears a blue dress with a white apron on it. She wears black shoes and a leather belt with keys attatched.
Living Area: The Outlying
Past: Summer was born to James and Elizabeth Dragonclaw, owners of Dragonclaw farm in the Outlying. At the age of 6, her mother died of an illness. The healers tried to save her but were too late. Days after her mother died, Summer learnt how to look after animals and be a farmer. She's been working on her parents' farm for 10 years now.
Personality: Summer is a friendly, chatty and sociable girl. Every weekend she goes down to Central District to see festivals and ceremonies, aswell as making new friends. Summer is kind, hard-working, caring, loyal and intelligent. Every night when her mother was alive, her mother would read her a story. She still reads and knows a lot about the history of the Shattered Isles. She works hard to make everyone else happy but doesn't really think about herself. If a stranger needed saving, she would help them over herself.
Other: Save Myself - Ed Sheeran (Some parts in the song suit her, others don't). Summer's birthday is the 16th of May.

Looks: Alyss is fairly tall, standing at around six foot four. She has messy short cropped dark blond hair. Her face is covered in freckles. She has dark blue-gray eyes with faint veins of burnt orange tracing the pupil and outer edge of her iris.
Clothing: Alyss wears a long dark green dress with a green cloak of the same color. She tends to wear riding boots as well and under her dress she wears riding pants.
Living Area: Central District, close to the Upper District
Magic Type(Vampire, witch, wizard etc): Sorceress
Mark Placement: At the base of her skull, hidden underneath her hair.
Past: Alyss was born as Princess Jasmine Mornwillow to the kingdom of Skarra. She was trained to hone her magic by her mother and was terrified as her mother was killed for magic. Alyss faked her death, buying off bandits to raid their camp and pretend to kill her. Once she was free she journeyed freely towards Wyvernhallow, meeting a knight journeying to the same place. The two arrived, a bit shocked to discover that Wyvernhallow had changed since they last heard of the place.
Personality: Alyss is watchful and insightful. She is very deathly compassionate about her friends, often going to great lengths to keep them safe from harm. She is prone to very angry outbursts when pushed too far, and she tends to let the magic take a bit too strong of a control.

Living Area: One of the lowest rooms at Castle Dower. It is a small room that just had a bed and a small carpet.
Magic Type(Vampire, witch, wizard etc): Susan is secretly a Sorceress.
Mark Placement: On her back.
Past: Susan was born to a poor family in Central District. She had one friend, her name was Alice Oakwood. One day, when Susan and Alice were 6, they were playing together and Alice asked for Susan to do some magic. Susan did a bit of magic for her friend but it went out of control, leaving Alice dead. Susan fled and became a maid. She knows the dangers but it's the only way she could get enough money to buy food for herself and her family.
Personality: Cautious and clever.

Past: Cole grew up a knight of Idris, son of a noble and a former peasant. He was taught to always respect others and he was torn by the news that he would have to relocate to Wyvernhallow as part of a peace treaty. While traveling there he ran into Alyss, and the two travelled together.
Cole was shocked to find out about the magic laws in Wyvernhallow, but acknowledges that there are reasons for it. Even if not fully logical.
Personality: Cole is kind, very sweet and caring. He often times is willing to help out friends, even if it will bring more trouble than its worth.

Name: Miles Fenit
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Job: Fence (Sells stolen goods)
Looks: Miles has a mop of shaggy brown hair on his head and has some facial hair. His skin is slightly dark, as well as dirty, and Miles’s eyes are brown with a silver ring.
Clothing: Scuffed black boots are the only pair of shoes Miles owns. He has an old peasant shirt and has a brown, cloth vest on top of it. For pants, he wears tan baggy pants.
Living Area: He lives in the Outlying.
Beast Looks: Miles’s beast form is a medium sized dog. With scruffy tan fur, he looks like a stray mutt.
Mark Placement: It is on the back of his left shoulder.
Past: Miles grew up poor and eventually ended up on the streets. He now steals goods and privately sells them.
Personality: While Miles is quite friendly in nature, he is very serious about his only means of survival: his business. When he isn’t “working” though, the teen is nice to most people, especially to those who are in the same financial situation as he is. He tends to steer clear of anyone associated with the law or people who are more wealthy. Miles will do anything to protect his half-sister though.

Looks: Thick, dark brown hair frames her face and reaches her lower back. She has long side bangs on her right side that tend to get in her face. Lyxa’s skin is tan, as well as dirty like her half-brother. Around five two, the girl’s eyes are a light brown, borderline hazel.
Clothing: Lyxa wears a dirtied white shirt that serves as the top of her dress and a plain, brown, leather corset that is worn from age. The bottom of her dress is green and parts of it is ripped, other parts are patched up. Dark brown slip on shoes that are scuffed can be found on her feet.
Living Area: She lives in the Outlying.
Past: Her past is the same as Miles’s.
Personality: Although she may act innocent, Lyxa is anything but. She puts on an act in order to lull other into a false sense of security so her brother can steal or pickpocket while she distracts them. Sometimes she’ll just play the sweet poor girl card to see if someone will donate anything. When not acting for their “business”, Lyxa is very sarcastic and often rude. Her true colors fly when she is particularly mad, revealing just how impatient and easily irritated she is. Lyxa does have a soft spot for her brother, despite the way she sometimes treat him.

Mark Placement: Across a beauty mark just under his left eye.
Past: Johnathan was born to a family originally nobles, after his father died Jonathan's mother rebelled against the former presiding court, eventually overthrowing them and taking the throne for herself.
Johnathan has grown up believing that magic was evil, and as a result has managed to suppress his own magical heritage.
Personality: Johnathan is very kind and understanding. Despite his taught hatred of certain things he tries his best to work around these issues. He wants for people to be happy with who they are. Even if his mother doesn't.

Name: Venus Black
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Job: Thief, sometimes she sells the goods she stole.
Looks: She has tan skin with dark, waist long hair (which she wears in a ponytail to get out of the way). She has yellow-ish brown eyes and usually wears leather or dark colored clothes.
Clothing: She normally wears boots, unless she's going to steal something, in which case she goes barefoot, and also wears a simple shirt covered with a dark, soundless cloak.
Living Area: Central district, almost in the lower district. She lives in a small alleyway.
Magic Type: Sorceress
Mark Placement: On her back, near her neck but can be easily hidden with a the clothes she wears.
Past: She was born to a sorceress and a wizard, whom were killed by Queen Diana's guards, after they protested about the unfairness of the treatment of magic users. This resulted in her being a thief, as she can't afford the food and clothes she wears with money.
Personality: Holds a grudge against Queen Diana. She is quick to judge and usually hates being in public. She is not welcoming, and does not trust people she just met. She also has a sharp toungue and a short temper. Can be very silent and patient if she needs to.

Just wondering, do wizards/witches and sorcerers/sorceresses have a specific type of magic that they specialize in? Or is it like they have some control over more than one element/magic?
