Why do some people go berserk when you ask them if one of their creatures are UFT? Why do they get so angry? (SOME people btw, not all). Isn't it kind of a compliment, people wanting to trade for YOUR creatures?? I just don't get it.
cafe • 16 September 2011 at 12:58 AM
Some people are tired of people asking, and after a while just get tired of it.When I had my tines on @cafe, people would ask me every five minutes if they were UFT.
smilies • 16 September 2011 at 1:01 AM
Sometimes I get so bored of saying, No, sorry, that I just delete the posts X) Okay, that's rude, but I really can't be bothered X)
icymuffin • 16 September 2011 at 1:01 AM
Same here.Especially when I even posted on my own wall, profile, AND the creature profiles that they weren't UFT.Typically, I just delete it. I don't want to waste my time & effort explaining only to have the other user rant of my wall about how utterly rude and pathetic I am.
cafe • 16 September 2011 at 1:03 AM
The only thing that would make me go berserk is people asking for Sammii. It's like, they didn't even read it, only saw a mo.
james-bond • 16 September 2011 at 1:03 AM
@cafe Every five minuses... That would be 288 times a day. Wow, that's a lot of views. If people got tired of people asking, they could put them in a storage account. People usually only get angry at you IF you start going on a big rant to them about how you severely detest how you hate people asking for your creatures.
icymuffin • 16 September 2011 at 1:04 AM
@james-bondBut that would make it kind of pointless to have a cove... o_OI don't know how to explain itBut a user should actually look if it says UFT or not. It's not that hard. You're wasting more time by typing it all up and later figuring that it wasn't.
pipkitten • 16 September 2011 at 1:04 AM
I've never gone "berserk" per say, but it does get rather annoying when people ask about creatures all the time when they're clearly not UFT.
james-bond • 16 September 2011 at 1:08 AM
I don't find that people ask all the time, and all it takes is a click of a button to say no. And it isn't completely clear that certain creatures aren't UFT. Like someone might write down "Read creature profile to see if it's UFT" but people most of the time can't be bothered, especially if they see lots of creatures that they might like to trade for.If people get that annoyed about people asking for their creatures, then I don't see why they don't put it in a storage for a wee while.
cafe • 16 September 2011 at 1:08 AM
@james-bondNot really, I have had one person yell at me that it wasn't fair I had three [at the time] tines, and I had a trade lot, irrelevant to my tines, and someone told to give them the lot. ...If someone "Can't be bothered" to read a simple profile, someone shouldn't be bothered to reply [what we do]
icymuffin • 16 September 2011 at 1:12 AM
@cafeI agree. D:If they won't read our profiles, what's the point? And some annoying users, asking once isn't enough, no. They just keep on asking, no matter how many times we tell them no...
james-bond • 16 September 2011 at 1:14 AM
So desu ne, watashi mo so omoi masu. Exactly, but most people reply to the post and write a big angry message about how they don't want you asking. You said you've had one person that said that to you. Out of 34,894 users, not including you, that's a pretty good record. I think most know not to say that kind of thing.@icymuffin that is exactly what the report button is for. 😊
cafe • 16 September 2011 at 1:15 AM
I've had one person ask "Is so-and-so" up for trade, every time they said hi.Them; Hi Me; Hey.. //Knowing what's coming//Them; Is so-yougetthepoint
james-bond • 16 September 2011 at 1:16 AM
Uhuh. Is saying hi bad?
icymuffin • 16 September 2011 at 1:19 AM
@james-bondUh, no? o_O Why would it be?It's bad if all you're going to say after is "is insertcreaturename UFT?"
cafe • 16 September 2011 at 1:19 AM
No, I'm saying every time they'd say hi, they'd ask if a creature was for trade. And that's it. No communication otherwise.
icymuffin • 16 September 2011 at 1:22 AM
@cafeYah. That's all it was...Like you're just there only when you have something they like UFT :]But I just delete their post/don't respond. Not to be mean, but to avoid drama of explaining and all that. They'll get the point...
james-bond • 16 September 2011 at 1:22 AM
I understand where you're coming from when you say that they should look at your profile, but a lot of people don't read through someone's profile, especially when it's long. Asking for someone's creatures isn't necessarily a bad thing is it though?@cafe but people don't usually try to start up a conversation with the person with a creature they'd like to try trading for. It's much easier to just 'get to the point'. Even I'd feel a bit awkward saying things like "Oh hey ---- you're cove looks so lovely! I love your foo! I hope you're having a wonderful day!"It's like sweetening them before you ask what you really want to know.Egg cave IS more like an egg trading game, so it is kind of defeating the purpose if you completely put yourself out of trading.
cafe • 16 September 2011 at 1:28 AM
To me, it is a bad thing, but not a crime. It's a bad thing because, if you're going to ask me for one of my creatures, have the common courtesy to glance over it's profile. Just look for an obvious Not UFT/UFA. If it's somewhere hidden, I'd get that, but if it's in plain site, then you have no excuse.[Not you, as in you, but you as in someone wanting my critters]And, if someone asks me for Sammii I would probably go berserk because of it's sentimental value. That I worked so hard to get. [Other than that, no berserk from me]//Edit//That's not that point, that person didn't even talk to me otherwise. Other than asking for my critters, said person never held an actual conversation with me.Them; Is -egg- UFT?Me; NoThem; No talky*~*~*Next dayThem; Is -Other egg- UFT?Me; NoThem; //silence//Etcetcetc
icymuffin • 16 September 2011 at 1:32 AM
So... for the 4 months before this, I was defeating Egg Cave's purpose? o~oMeh. I don't like seeing it that way. I was very happy those months without having to trade.Anyways, nearly all of the people asking aren't being nice when they do.And as it was already said before, some of us are just fed up with it. We've seen enough. Done. No more asking us please, we've had it.Mostly because of earlier users before Ian posted the rules of how to ask/not to ask.
james-bond • 16 September 2011 at 1:33 AM
Yes, I know. I haven't ever asked for your creatures before. XD But the problem is, that a lot of people just write it on their main profile. They can't be bothered writing it on every single creature's profile, which I understand. I don't see the need to go berserk if any creature is asked for. People don't purposely ask for an egg/creature that the KNOW isn't UFT.There's rules about how to ask/not ask??And how else to people get the creatures they want without asking?? A big part of egg cave is trading.@cafe but that's what I mean, why would you start a convo with someone, when all you really want to know is if an egg is for trade?
cafe • 16 September 2011 at 1:36 AM
I've posted on my profile that certain eggs aren't for trade, and on their profile, and still been asked
icymuffin • 16 September 2011 at 1:38 AM
@james-bondYeah, why would they start a conversation if they were just trading? And why start a pathetic one in that case?Beats me. But they do.
cafe • 16 September 2011 at 1:42 AM
I finally told them to stop, that I'm not going to just trade with them and that's it.They stopped talking to me, roflmao.People used to ask "Can I have -egg-", and I got down right yelled at for saying no a few times O_O
evilyowling • 16 September 2011 at 2:05 AM
If someone asks for my one of my 'never going to give up' eggs. I say no in the most gentle and polite way I can. 😊Even though they have made a mistake or don't read profiles. Not everyone here is a fan of reading. *No matter how small* Although if I were one of the askers I would be a little sad/scared if someone went berserk at me for asking.
celeste • 16 September 2011 at 2:11 AM
@evilyowling*looks at your status* And how popular ARE you? XD Well, personally, people just tell me "Sorry, *so and so* are not UFT". But what REALLY irks me is that newbies expect you to practically let them ADOPT your CC or rares.I once made a trade of my best creatures, and somebody offered three junk creatures. So then I said "Sorry, these are not worth it," Actually, that person sorta begged - she said "Please accept - I'm only 1 month old," so I was like "So? I'm only 1 month old too (this was a few months back) and its taken me work to get my beauties," So then they offered again, so I HAD to politely explain that my creatures were NOT worth those. And some newbies actually offered on lots which say 'reserved' D: I had a lot up which stated that was 'reserved', but to 'offer what you can spare'. So a newbie did... offer what they could 'spare'. And the newbies never actually say 'Oh, ok. Thanks for letting me know,', they're just *really* quiet to make you yourself feel you did something wrong. Like you've GOT to give it to them or they'll never be happy again.
james-bond • 16 September 2011 at 4:43 AM
@celeste that's because newbees don't know how this site works, so yoou should teach, not tell them off. Like when I started, I didn't know which creatures were rare and which were common. I was immensly happy when someone gave me an Inhemn for free. And I didn't understand why people got angry when I asked for their Swornt.
cqpkytty • 16 September 2011 at 10:12 AM
@james-bond@celesteYup, when I started (again, after hiatus), I made a big list of ALL the creatures I wanted and made trade lots saying, "I will only accept THIS, THIS, THIS, THIS....THIS, THIS, or THIS." They were junk eggs, and about 3/4 of what I was asking for were rare. Then two users posted on my profile about that, I answered on my own profile, someone told me to answer on the other person's profile, and I got 2 lessons at once!
dionaea • 16 September 2011 at 10:46 AM
@james-bondI agree that some people do overreact, but begging can be VERY annoying. So if someone asks for my creatures politely they'll get a polite answer (often no though XD) in return, but once I've had someone nagging about my Onny saying how much she wanted it and that she wanted it more than me etc etc and that really pissed me off, managed to remain polite though... I think there are some people who've had this kind of begging happen a lot in the past and therefore get angry easily when asked.
whitefall • 16 September 2011 at 3:29 PM
@james-bondIt's gets annoying. Especially when they ask you over and over again. And it clearly says no. They just ask and don't notice the clear NO.
