What happens when creatures die?

I know there's a resurrection stone and I've seen people selling dead creatures but I also found someone on the forums whose creatures had disappeared during their hiatus. Does that mean creatures stick around for a while but eventually disappear?

Dead creatures do not disappear. I don't know the circumstances about the user you mentioned, but our records only go back so far. So if someone had creatures die before we started keeping records of dead creatures then those creatures would not be available for resurrection.
