Wolves of the mist (SIGN UPS) (ACCEPTING!!!)

For as long as anyone can remember there have been two packs were the ocean meets the land. Block in by mountain ranges and protected other packs who would compete for the seaside territories. For the most part the two packs ignored each other except for the occasional border squall over the years. This however, was not to last. A new and formidable entity has arisen that will force the packs to come together, or fall.


Plot:
So the plot of this role play is that there are two packs who live along side the ocean. They don’t get along very well and there have been a couple of fights over the years that has resulted in losses from both sides. Now something they call the Mist has been slowly spreading over the mainland and has taken over much of the old hunting and den grounds, forcing the packs to be in closer contact and therefore causing more fighting over land and prey. The wolves fear the mist, only one wolf who has ever entered has come out. The closer they get the more there is a strange ringing sound in their ears. Now with winter upon them, the packs can’t go on killing each other with the rapidly declining prey. So it has been agreed that the two packs become one for the time being. It is a risky agreement as now the packs are living together with other wolves that may have killed their loved ones and for the most part don’t trust each other.
*I know there isn’t much fantasy stuff right now since there are no powers and what not but trust me, that will come into the plot later! This setting is based off of a book I’m writing so I’ve got some cool stuff planned!*

Alpha Male:
The alpha male leads the pack as a whole. He is the highest in command second only to his mate the alpha female. He determines how the pack is run, who get what jobs as well as in charge of the interactions between other packs. The alpha male is often one of the strongest members of the pack since he has to fight off competitors.

Alpha female:
The alpha female is the co leader second only to her mate, the alpha male. Her main job is to lead and organize the hunters. She determines where and how they are going to hunt and maps out where they will go. During the hunt she has more power than her mate should be listened to but the alpha male decides who gets what after a big kill. Only when she is close to or having pups will she step down for a bit and let another female take charge but only rarely since they mostly have pups in the spring when there is enough small game to not have large hunts.

Betas(Mostly Males(Only accepting male betas now)):
These guys are directly under the alphas. They are in charge of protecting the pack from any threats, rival packs, other predators, etc. They are highly respected and do have some level of authority but not as much as the alphas. Because being a beta means you must be big and strong betas are predominantly males because males have a stronger build.

Hunter(Mostly females):
The Hunters are equal to the betas. They are the hunters of the pack who bring home most of the food in during a hunt are the runners to bring down big game. This is a very dangerous job. The leader of the hunters is the alpha female. The Hunters are mostly female since females are generally smaller and faster than the males

Omega(all genders):
Contrary to popular belief, the omegas are highly important members of the pack. The job of the omegas is to keep the tension in the pack to not rise to a breaking point and to keep everyone happy. In the case of an argument the omegas are there to defuse arguments before they result into violence. They are often bullied and bossed around by the higher ranks. The Alphas will often consult with Omegas to ask for opinions on how to approach other packs and as well as for insight as to what is going on in the pack. Omegas also help with taking care of the pups.

Demoted Omega(all genders):
Different from the normal Omegas, these are wolves that were once part of the other ranks but did something bad enough to have them thrown from the ranks into the lowest member of the pack. Though technically the same as normal omegas, these wolves really don’t do the same jobs. They aren't allowed to train the pups or be part of pack negotiations. These guys mostly just change wolves beddings and den maintenance, take care of the elders, and really whatever odd jobs the pack needs them to do. This is also the stage loner will enter the pack into but these newbies quickly rise through the ranks.

Elders(all genders):
The Elders are a highly respected branch of the pack. They are either wolves who have grown to old to do their old jobs and now live out their lives in comfort or are fallen heros of the pack or are crippled to do their old jobs. THEY HAVE THE VERY IMPORTANT JOB OF STORY KEEPERS! (If you choose to be an elder I will pm you some of the lore!) Pups are spent to spend a lot of time with the elders to learn from them.

Queens(Females):
The queens are wolves who are either very close to having pups or have very recently had pups. No matter what rank they were in, during this time of having pups the females become queens who rest and are taken care of till the pups are old enough that their moms can go back to their old ranks. All queens, no matter their previous rank are very respected.

Pups(all genders):
These are pups, basically little kids who aren't allowed out of the camp till they are old enough and are taken care of by their moms, the omegas, and the elders.

Loners(all genders):
Keep these guys to a minimum, since the rp is centered around the pack. They are just wolves who aren't a part of the pack.

The Old Packs
The old packs have combined to form what they now simply refer to as ‘The Pack’. Despite the fact they are now one, wolves of one pack tend to not get along with those who used to belong to another pack and vise versa. Keep in mind, there was a lot of battles once the mist appeared and the old predisposes die hard.

Dusk Pack
This was by far the larger/stronger pack who was winning the fighting before the packs became one. Even before the mist they held most of the territories and haven't suffered as much losses of their original land from the mist as their rival pack. The Dusk Pack's alpha is currently the alpha of the pack since his members make up the majority of pack.

Dawn Pack
This pack is much smaller than the Dusk pack but its members tend to be very strong willed and proud. Even with the uneven odds they were willing to fight till the end. They suffered a devastating loss when the mist appeared, losing many members as well as their camp.
*If your alpha was the previous Alpha of this pack put Beta/Alpha or Hunter/Alpha under rank. Since you aren't technically an alpha anymore but the members of your old pack still treat you like one*

Name: ScarletHart(Rook) - his real name is rarely used
Image: A very large black wolf with light blue eyes
Nicknames(optional): Nobody calls him by his real name, he's better known as Rook, after the bird. To those who don’t like him the nickname Barren is used, mostly behind his back as a stab to the fact he has yet to have pups.
Personality: Rook is a very strong, opinionated individual. His pride has never let him stand aside and let things happen, he always has to be in the thick of. He can also be very unforgiving, that's not to say that he's cruel which is not the case, just very strict and gets annoyed quickly when others don’t immediately follow orders. On the other hand his punishments are usually minor and fair considering he is running a very large pack, with no room for doubt of his control. As a leader though, Rook exells. He is confident and proud and is also very good at keeping the pack organised and busy. He knows when to punish, but also when to praise when they deserve it. Rook’s biggest flaw is that he will almost never ask for help, even when he needs it. This element of his pride makes him keep his feelings from others and will often leave his feeling to build in silence till there just about ready to tear him inside from out. He feels that he can’t make mistakes or else his whole pack will turn on him. Instead as they are now, hes not sure how much he can trust these other pack wolves, despite the fact that the union between them was his doing.
History: Rook was always very ambitious. When he was little he grew up with a lot of brothers and sisters and would lead/boss the other pups around. His parents were the previous alphas and though pedigree doesn’t determine rank in the pack it was clear even from a young age he was destined for leadership. By the time he was 3 another alpha had challenged and won against his father though only a year later Rook successfully managed to win against this new wolf. Strangely, though he has been alpha for over a year now he has yet to choose a mate and his mother has acted as alpha female. Because of this rumors have arisen that he can’t have pups and that is why he hasn’t chosen a mate. One day, after the fighting began to get really bad Rook and his mother left for the Mists, Rook being determined to find out what the strange fog was and why it was so dangerous. Rook was the only one to return and since then has refused to talk about the incident.

This isn’t a very uncommon practice of if a loner has too many puppies or simply can’t take care of them they will sometimes be left near the packs dens in hopes to be found. This is what happened to Blossom but she doesn’t remember anything that far back so she doesn’t care. As far as she's concerned the pack is her family!

(The wolves don't know it but she is actually the mist in physical form, when it feels like causing mischief or yelling at some. The mist is a sentient being and a highly dangerous and powerful one at that!)

Personality: Brash and somewhat vain, Chestnut is always trying to find a way to work herself to the top. It's not quite that she likes giving orders, but because she has something to prove to the world. Most of the time she’s just being arrogant and annoying, but deep down, there's a good wolf in there somewhere. In truth when she's trying to convince others of how great she is, it's just another way of trying to convince herself.
History: When Chestnut was young she was extremely close to her twin sister Hazel. The two did everything together, told eachother everything, even fell in love with the same wolf, a strong and dashing beta. It was clear he was interested in both wolves but ended up choosing Hazel after the she wolf told him about Chestnuts insecurities and other unflattering stories. Heart broken by losing both the males affections and by her sister's betrayal Chestnut became the cruel guarded wolf she is today. Her sister later passed away on a hunt and her mate was killed by the dawn pack. It's still her secret wish to one day be a mother.

Personality: Rowan is a soldier through and through. He is loyal to a fault and follows orders without question. Given the choice he would gladly die for another pack member or kill if it meant helping his pack. Still, his stubborn loyalty and ideals mean he is very slow to trust these new wolves, who he has trouble seeing as anything other than strangers taking advantage of his packs hospitality. Rowan does worry if his loyalty to the individual will interfere with his loyalty to the pack. If someone were to challenge and put his adopted brother in danger he isn’t sure if he would be able to stand to the side despite pack law.
History: MountainAsh, like Blossom, was born to loner parents whose litter was too big to support all the pups so he was left just outside of camp. Being only about a day old, SparrowSong took in the pup as one of her own and he was raised alongside Rook and their other brothers and sisters. As he grew older he was very protective of his new family and can be touchy around mention of his loner origins. Because of this he can be very defensive and hostile around loners. Rowan is still very close to Rook and knows him better than almost anyone. He is however, very worried for the alpha’s welfare as he can tell ScarletHart is keeping something from him and the pack.

Personality: For a loner, Alder is surprisingly friendly and innocent. He likes his own company and has no interest in joining what he considers to be the cramped and controlling pack. Choosing instead to go his own way and do his own thing. Recently however, he has grown very lonely and increasingly on edge as his roaming territory shrinks and the mist keeps pushing him in closer and closer to pack controls lands. Torn between needing companionship and giving up his freedoms he feels at wits end about what to do leading the normally happy go lucky male to be a bit unstable.
History: Alder likes more then anything is to be in control of his life, which as of late has not been happening. Growing up in a litter with four other brothers, Aster has faint memory's from when he was a young pup of a fifth sibling but has no idea what happens to her. He traveled with two of his brothers after leaving his parents. About a year ago one brother found a mate and the other disappeared, presumably to join another group of loners Alder didn’t like. Now on his own he was living in a nice cave by a creak until the mist showed up, driving him east towards the ocean. Despite traveling with his brothers for a while they stayed close to the mountains and this is his first time so close to the packs, though his parents taught him how to recognize their territories. Scared but hopeful, he is currently trying to stay under the packs raider and wait out whatever badness is trying to ruin his peaceful life.

Many hear her howl, often at random periods of the day. Most are allured by her voice and follows into the mist. Rarely her voice has no effect.

History: In her youth a lot of young male wolves would have done anything for her, if she agreed to be their mate, and you look there is probably not a single scratch on her body.

Though your character Ghoast, I think its a cool idea but couldyou please take any nicknames that have to do with the mist out since that is kind of MysticWaters thing and the characters will be referring to the mist(the place) a lot and if there is another character whose name/nickname is that it will get very confusing!

Also yep! I'm on there to! but this one will be completely different from the one on cs since I won't be sticking so close to the rules of the world and will be giving you guys more freedom to do what you want! this one will be way less plot based(though I still have a lot planned😸) and more of a light just for fun kind of thing!

Personality: Hera can become jealous when other females get too close to her mate/crush. To those around her, she shows no emotion and makes warnings to those who dare meddle in her business. She is kind to others and tries to help take care of the pups. Her favorite pup being Venus even though both are close to complete polar opposites. It is like mother and daughter in between them. Being independent, you will only see her relying on others when knowing that she alone cannot solve or do things. She is a slow thinker and always thinks before acting, thus, causing her to act too late.. Like Venus, she is also humble, composed, and well dignified.

History: Hera’s parents were killed within the mist. Not wanting to lose anybody else, she seeks to protect the pack along with the Betas, but seeing as they would not let her join and later fighting for the position, she gave up after seeing the faces full of fear that were planted onto the members of the pack. Seeing that a Hunter was the closest position to the Beta and was the easiest to obtain at the moment, she became one. She knew that being a Hunter would enable to keep her worry (need to protect the pack out of fear for the re-ocurrance of her trauma) at bay and her strength would not turn weak.

True, but wolves have giant litters. Last wolf, so I won't ping you much anymore. I think spirits are wolves that aren't mortal, hence the name spirits. Not sure if they get to be born, but I guess you can say that the wolves are born alongside each other as spirits? Confused, but oh well. I can change cause I'm confusing myself. XD

She usually keeps her emotions and words to herself, in fear of what the others would say if they heard what she was truly thinking. Although she wants to be a Beta or Alpha one day, she finds herself lucky to be a hunter. She has great respect for her fellow hunters, loners, and Rook because she sees them as strong individuals (mentally and physically).
History: When she was little, she learned that you should be careful of what you say and do, which lead to her being afraid of saying anything wrong or doing anything wrong. She learned that love was dangerous and she should stay out of it. She had witnessed her parent's death and knows the reason why they died too. A reason that no one else in the pack knew. Her parent's death impacted her life and changed her personality.

No I am not Luna85echo but I know who they are, I can't believe they stole my characters and rp without asking! I am the original owner of this rp, the plot is ripped directly from my book I'm writing and I own the characters ScarletHart/Rook and MountainAsh/Rowan. Luna is one of my closest friends on another cite, ChickenSmoothie but I wasn't aware she had done this! Wow, sorry for the rant I'm just so surprised and kinda hurt they'd do this without asking, thank you for bringing this to my attention.

yah, I don't mind they used the premise but I'm really upset they took my characters and didn't cite me anywhere! This role play story is extremely personal for me and that someone I trusted took it without asking, I just feel violated. Should I talk to the cite's mods if after I talk with her she still don't give me any credit?

There is no alpha female yet, Rooks going to wait to choose one until we've all role played for a while and get to know the characters, then I'm going to have a pole so the 'pack' can choose the alpha female! its probably going to be a while but I think it will be fun!
