Sol entered the camp just in time to hear the new deputy named through the nursery walls. He was vaguely surprised; did cats really die so unceremoniously here? It was so different than the other Clans he'd encountered...

He caught up to Whiskerpaw. "How did Moonfoot die?" he asked the apprentice quietly.

Sol gazed down at the apprentice, sympathy warming his amber gaze. "I'm sorry," he mewed quietly.

Abruptly he stood up. "But how did the rest of the Clan- or at least your queen in the nursery- how could they /not/ know she died?"

Cloudpaw scuffed the ground with his forepaws. "Why would I want to do that? If you love hanging around camp so much, why don't you just become a medicine cat? I'M going to go on the noon patrol with Frostfoot." He bounced off to the entrance tunnel, where his mentor was waiting.

"Hello," he mewed back politely. He didn't know Fernfoot very well. "Whiskerpaw is just going on about loving the elders' den again. I don't know why," he snorted. "Warriors don't need to be good at picking out ticks, they need to be good at hunting and fighting."

Furnfoot sighed. "Some warriors like doing the elder's ticks...but that's usally a punishment for a kit or an apprentice for doing something bad."

(Spottedstar's story? This is her memories from when she was a kit....to her death. Yellowstar's story is the same thing. but not the kit part..it starts from when she was an warrior. Yellowstar in this story is Yellowpaw.)
