How does the Thief Shop, Meteor, and Oasis Work?

Most of my favorites come frome these places..... so how do they even work? Im not getting anything....

The Oasis randomly restocks endangered creatures. These creatures don't cost any EC to pick up.
The Asteroid has a very rare chance of giving out an Asteroid creature when you visit it each day.
The Thief Shop randomly restocks mystery eggs. These eggs have a varying chance to be fake or turning out to be one of the exclusive Thief Shop creatures. It is impossible to tell which eggs are fake or real before buy them.
