I'm Worried About My Turtle...

I adopted an ornate box turtle on Friday from someone who didn't want her anymore. They hadn't been feeding her the right food, so she's pretty tiny. The problem is, I bought three kinds of special box turtle food, and she won't eat 'em. Along with those, I've tried grated carrots, green beans, lettuce, crushed cat kibble, and canned cat food. She won't eat a thing! D: I'm really worried about her.

...help/advice, anyone?

Good Lord, there's a hunger-strike among the reptiles D:

It could just be taste preference

My turtle hates carrots, but loves bananas.

Have you tried bugs? My turtle lovvveeesss meal worms and crickets. I set a cricket in the tub with her and she'll devour it. Same with meal worms, but on the floor.

@Cafe: I hope it's just taste preference and not something really bad... But I'm going grocery shopping later today, so I'll pick up a banana or two to try, and I guess I'll go peek under some rocks in my yard to try and find an earthworm or two.

@Bluegirl80: I've got some fruit treats for her, but she won't touch 'em. ☹️

@Candy_Girl_1298: The only vet I know of that works with turtles is over 100 miles away...

My friend has a turtle and they got him from pet land. She had a shell softer than a marshmellow! When they called the doctor she gave the turtle some calcium shots to help. When they called petland back they said the vet was wrong! They also said return him and we will give you another! Ugh. Never trust petland! Sorry that was kind of off topic.

@pipkitten My friend gave him lettuce and some meal worms. It could also be that you are not having the correct lightbulb or tempreture in the cage. Sometimes that can make them not eat. You may want to look online for some answers about the temp. Does that help?

@Miomar: Oh noes! D:

@Katniss: I don't think she'd like fish, but I'll try some other vegetables. 😋

@Juliettbrown: I bought her an under-the-sand heating pad yesterday, but my mom won't let me put it in the aquarium until winter... I'm going to buy some romaine lettuce later, so hopefully she'll eat that.
Thank you for the advice! ❤️

@Katniss: We used an eyedropper to get her to drink some water this morning, because we don't think she's been drinking either...

@Miomar: That's so sad! ☹️

Hope that helps. Another friend of mine had a boa constrictor and they left it in the cage with both lights turned on in a heat wave. Guess what happpened? Poof! He turned to stone! No, I don't mean medusa came into her house and looked at him ( She wouldn't do that one, she is dead, two, he is kin with her hair XD ) the heat was so great that he got dehydrated and turned stiff! That won't happen with your turtle now will it?

@Katniss: Yeah... ☹️
Hopefully either you or I will manage to Google some good info/help, eh?

@Cafe: And ducks. The only vet for them works at the zoo. D:

@Juliettbrown: I don't think she'd get all crispy... The heater just warms up the sand in one little area wherever you put it.

Woah! A duck! I want a duck! You know all vets care for turtles and other reptiles. You don't need a specific doctor. I once saw a tortise at a vet! It was awesome! I got to pet it.
