Can dogs be suicidal?

My dog sleeps with her head in her water bowl under my computer chair. And then the side of her head in the bowl gets drenched while the other half is dry. Do you think she's suicidal?

Maybe she just likes the feeling of the water while she's resting.

I'd take her to a vet if you're seriously worried but it might just be a quirk of the pet.

I wasn't being serious, I don't think she's depressed. Every morning she jumps on my bed, licks me all over my face, and lies down on top of me.

Maybe she's just trying to col off. You have to keep in mind that dogs have fur so their body temperature is going to be higher than yours. So even if it's 40 degrees out, she might be warmer.

It could just feel good too.
I don't know if dogs or other animals have the ability to be suicidal. Why? Because their instincts to live over-rides and that's all they feel. 😊

If you are concerned, maybe you should call your vet and see what he or she has to say.

I'm not concerned, I just thought it was funny. I wasn't being serious at all, and no I don't really think she's suicidal.

Well even if you didn't mean it seriously, dogs can commit suicide when their hearts are broken and they just lay down and force themselves to die.

Animals can feel anything we feel.
My ferret gets very depressed when we put him in his small cage.
