Star Creature Daily Stats Boost

Hello, EggCave! I had a question about the mechanics of the daily stats boost for star creatures. Yesterday my creature gained 10 points, but today he only gained 2. Is this random, or is it based off something?

Stats gained by stars are a randomly chosen within a range. Around 2-10ish, if I remember correctly, might go a little higher but not by much.
