I wrote this during one of my breaks after a zoom class; I hope you like it!


They laugh
'cause i don't like skirts
or dresses
or even give makeup a thought

I don't care that they laugh

They laugh
'cause i hang out with boys
'cause i like reptiles
'cause I'm just not a girly girl

I don't care, that's who I am.

Yet they still laugh
'cause I read books for fun
'cause my grades are good
'cause i'm a nerd

But their laugh won't faze me

Let them laugh
I'm a tomboy
I'm a nerd
and i'm not scared to show them
that i'm different.
That i'm not a girly girl

Dunno if you've ever read "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" but this poem gives me Lucy Gray vibes - not that it reminds me of her, but it feels like she could have written it! The words or the way you wrote it I guess ^^

Anyways it's a nice poem, keep it up!
