Chocotravaganza Exchange use after collection finished (like Halloween)

At the moment I can send and receive chocolates, but the prize shop is closed. Kinump seeds are usable after they're no longer obtainable. Can the chocolates, too, be exchange-able and usable for a few days after hunting for them had finished? Would make the last few hours of hunting more useful all around...
