What is the point of genders

Do they just exist so that you can name the creature something feminine or masculine or just for roleplaying purposes?

Great question, @duballl! Genders are a purely cosmetic flair given to creatures for an extra bit of personality. They do not currently offer any sort of effect on gameplay otherwise.
