Happy New Year everyone! ❤️

Does anyone have a good estimate what species names are selling for nowadays? I've never had one for sale before and I never see them for trade, so I'd love some financial advice, haha ^^

@jlya

The last time I sold a species name was about 7 years ago, so my advice might be inaccurate lol. But I think it largely varies depending on how popular the creature is. Obviously the more popular the species, the more the name should go for. I'd say it could normally range anywhere from 200cc to 1k cc (I once sold a name at the high end of that range). If it's a very noteworthy creature (for example Doovoo, Tine, Biwo), then it'd likely be much higher than that range.

If you're referring to the species name you got today, I personally wouldn't go below 500cc (300 cc would be the absolute lowest imo)- it's a really unique creature so I imagine it'll be popular. But again my advice might be very outdated so definitely get more opinions!

Heyo! In my experience of collecting names, I say most names are a base of 300cc on average.
The only ones lower are if its from a species that's not highly liked or whatnot (a EX might be Baistay for ex), but probs only lowest of 100cc.

On the high end it might get to 800cc reasonably in my opinion. Usually those are creatures that are highly popular (Biwo, Goldur, Greem etc). Sometimes names go higher, but usually that's in a bid war or a 'top teir' creature (Tine, Onny, Gobbler, Macbot, Doovoo).

For brand-new names of species that just dropped, you can probably get 500cc on the first day. but in my experience I tend to see the value of names die down as the hype drops. But it depends on the creature for sure - its all dealers choice in the end.
I will say CSPs usually are more likely to keep a minimum of a 300cc value overall though. If it's the more 'popular' of the 2 or has a loved design, they'll probably retain 500cc pretty well.

Thank you both so much for the input!! 😃 That's very helpful advice.
In your experience, how did you go about selling species names? Trades center, forum advertisement, interested users coming to you...?

@jlya

I usually have had users come to me to ask if I'm selling the name, and then we'll negotiate over private message. I had 3 separate users contact me about the Picerak species name within the first 12 hours I had it (not trading that one though, it's special lol). Trade center and forums would also be fine options though.

I agree with Prairie on the point that names do seem to have more value in the first couple of days that they are released. There are always users looking to grow or start their name collections though, so if you don't have immediate luck I wouldn't worry too much. 😊
