Admittedly, I rushed this LOL I was so excited. I thought the way the face burned ended up a cool pattern. ;o This could have turned out a lot better though, maybe I should try again. x) Also would dip the strawberry way less; the angle of the photo makes it appear completely covered and the bit of red is out of view.

You can eat it! It's been sitting in my kitchen for a few hours now LOL. He actually keeled over. I'm gonna show my bf and then tell him to eat it. XD (I had enough strawberries during the making, and about to make dinner now). Thinking I could coat it in food-safe resin and keep *cue the Sandlot* for. ev. errrrrr.

That's what I wanna do with my kitty! XD It'd be more involved to make some grahams and the strawberry and such, but maybe I could cut some cardboard boxes for the grahams... She LOVES boxes anyway (I mean, she's a cat lol).

Chocolate covered strawberry plushies exist, probably graham cracker too, but a graham would be a simple thing to sew. Mildred, you wanna be a Smitten for Halloween this year? 😸

Ooh I definitely don't want to be famous, but I wouldn't mind the financial comfort that comes with it hah. Those are cute ideas! For now, just thinking a little clay pendant or charm of a Smitten would be really precious. 😸 And of course... a plushie. o___o I love stuffed animals. A stiff and stand-uppable plushie would be nice, but can you imagine a floppy, under-stuffed Smitten plush? *o*

Twinkle messaged me (I'm so glad she did omg) about creating a "strawberry smores themed pet" that "slowly melts" and since it could be for Valentine's Day, she thought maybe a teddy bear or a cat. I'm in love with cats, so I wanted to choose that and thankfully she was okay with it. c: Her idea was to have the marshmallow be the animal / be sandwiched between the grahams. I went with that and drew what I thought would be cute: a cat in a loaf position, paws tucked, happy / sleeping, all warm and cozy on top of the chocolate inside the grahams, then a cat starting to melt the chocolate, getting all chocolate-coated, and getting toasted from the warmth, and finally, a more toasted cat with chocolate on it. I ended up making the strawberry chocolate-covered cuz I had Valentine's Day and chocolate from the s'mores on my mind, though it was supposed to be just a strawberry, but it ended up being okay. 😊

Please for the love of God, make us a Smitten plushie! I would absolutely love to hint around to my bf to get me another cat plushie hehe. You could even get stickers or acrylic pins/keychains made that you could in turn sell on Etsy! (Honestly, EggCave needs a shop where we can get merch 😋)

Just curious, did you or your bf actually end up eating your irl Smitten? 😱

This is an amazingly well-done food recreation of the Smitten, thank you for sharing! I enjoy a good s'more... this one would be hard to eat, though, just look at those eyes. The edit and meme is great, too.

Congratulations to you and @twinkle for the creature suggestion itself as well, the entire concept and species name wordplay is fantastic.

I love your ideas! Omg I love Etsy, I'm on there every other day. My main search is "orange cat", mostly looking at vintage or unique stuff. XD I've had people tell me for years to sell stuff on there, but it's a very competitive market. You can search what you make and there's so many options of nearly the same thing. I keep what I make as an occasional hobby, so I still enjoy it, instead of making it a job, where I may grow bothered with it. Looked up "smores cat" and there are some cute things already!! Some stickers and keychains, but no s'mores cat plush. I'm visualizing one in my head, and while it might not happen anytime soon, I do want to make one. That being said... EGG CAVE MERCH SHOP. Yes! I've wanted this from the start. I was thinking EC shirts would be so freaking cute and wanted to make one of my own... but going with your comment, EC could look into sourcing a really great stuffed animal manufacturer, and get some of the most popular creatures made, and I guarantee they will sell out immediately. I think it would be worth the investment. I would buy EC plushies in an instant. This site has been around for over a decade, I think this should be one of the next steps (if there is enough interest).

My bf did not eat the Smitten, it's in the freezer LOL but I made an extra chocolate covered strawberry for him and he ate that... and he was like omg this is so good, and he said he doesn't think he's ever had a chocolate covered strawberry before... I was like what! How am I just finding this out now! XD I'm so honored mine was the first he had. Explains why he was legit swooning while eating that one lmao.
