Cave species/gender generator

Hi cavers!

Does anyone know how the 'cave' generates the creatures found in the cave?

does it first roll for the species, and then roll for the gender?

or is the roll a random mix of both species & gender at the same time?

i'm asking, because it seems of late, with the extra binary gender, and extra creatures, its harder to find some creatures than others.

I'm wondering if the gender roll is having an effect on this increase of rarity of creatures specifically.

any ideas?

I don't know, but my money is on: the roll is a random mix of both species & gender at the same time.

I think it probably has something to do with more creatures to choose from, so the ratio is gonna change. probably also trying to manage rarities of common creatures (mo & terron are much harder to get than a picerak & ikamifoo in my experience; I have yet to find a Terron).
