A little bit confused as to how things work around here, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon!

You can take a look at the Player Guide to get a better idea of things like how to grow your creatures, what shops are for, etc. And someone will probably come along and post all the great newbie-helpful links soon, but if you have any questions feel free to ask! This is a very helpful community. 😊
