Why aren't some people feed-friendly?

I just can't understand why some people are so against people feeding their cove. I'm sure there's a reasonable answer but I just cant wrap my head around it lol.

Typically some people don't want their coves fed because it increases creature stats and might cause creatures to evolve when they don't want them to yet (they might be saving up for freezes) ^^
