hello every one,

I am new here but have been helped in the way of creatures by my cousin @catsy01 , catsy has had to make the hard decision to leave but has actually gifted me her stock to help me start out,

she has been away from here for a few years, so any tips or tricks that i could get as to how to get the newer creatures would be wonderful

Creatures from this month you can find in The Cave and the Cash Shop.
After your first initial 10 attempts at the Cave for the day, you can try again at least once every half hour (it's a random wait time each time, from 9 to 30 minutes.)

Every so often you can get lucky and find something in the Adoption Center or Leila Oasis.
The Adoption Center depends on someone paying to put their own creatures in their instead of Auctions or Trades Center ...which once you start earning EC you should be able to start doing.
The Oasis is a random event that happens sporadically, but it's whoever finds it first. Unlike the Cave where you have about 5 minutes to catch it before it disappears, it is unique to each user.

You could also check out the Trading & Auctions section of the forums, and post what you're looking for once you have an idea what you want.
You could browse through the Blog posts, or the Archives generally post most creatures relatively close to the year they were released. A recent addition is Tags, and it has been super helpful in looking them up by year.

At the end of the year you can compete in the Toy Drive where the most rare items donated in a day wins your requested Cave Monthly of the year.
And all the Cash Shop creatures that were released in the current year are available again.

And you could do Questing to get creatures available from the VEND. (Although there's a few people quite willing to trade for these.) These are old Monthly and Event creatures that have been re-released for a limited time.

And I nearly forgot... the Science and Research Center... But it takes a LOT of earned Egg Coins to buy them.

And I just realized after typing almost all this out (40 minutes) there's a nice concise list printed on Twinkle's Newbie Guide. *facepalm*
About the only thing I forgot to mention is The Mysterious Asteroid. But chances of getting something from there are SUPER rare. Except in July where for one week attempts are every 30 minutes instead of once a day. This year it was every 15 minutes. (and even then most people were lucky if they got one creature from it the whole week.)

Definitely check out the newbie guide though, there's a couple other options mentions, and lots of other great information! : )
