I agree with the other comments. It's a gorgeous creature and unique in its design. It would make an excellent Christmas egg. ^^

You mention the word opaque as if it is a color, what exactly do you mean by this? Is it transparent and then becomes white? Sounds like a lovely creature. :}

Yep the babies are kinda see though, its their camouflage, as they get older they turn white. The degree of white varies, some are more grey. 😊

@nkjay I see what kiti means. I hadn't really read the description...I just looked at the pictures. 😊 Opaque means that you can't see through it. A brick wall is opaque. Translucent means that you can sort of see light through it, but you can't distinguish things clearly. For example, frosted glass would be translucent.

If the babies start out kind of see though, then they would be translucent, not opaque. I'm not sure, but you may want to use the word "iridescent" instead. It means:
Producing a display of lustrous, rainbowlike colors OR
Brilliant, lustrous, or colorful in effect or appearance

I'm not sure exactly what you're imagining, but from the picture, I think that iridescent might be a better word. 😊
