I don't think so. The Ghosties have always been a special case - they are here every October.
What I think happened is that THIS year, since there is a ghostlike creature for the Halloween Bash, the Ghosty was not released. But I DO think that they will be back next year 😊

Marlays and Ghosties are different. Ian substituted the Marlay and Floicol for the Drakomo/Aerlo/Bunthoff.

Ian decided not to release ghosties this year. They won't be coming. There *might* be like on last egg on Halloween,(on the blog post it says Halloween Bash has finally BEGUN) but probably not ghosties. It would clash with the whole concept of the ghostars.

FLOICOL replaced the bunthoff and drakomo.
MARLAY replaced e aerlo's so it seems.

Ghosty description;

"Every year, Egg Cave is visited by at least one ghost."
It doesn't say it's always the Ghosty, so I assume it means any type of Ghost creature.

"From year to year, the ghost changes"
This can mean that the Ghost changes altogether, as in... a different creature? The Ghostar is still a ghost, but different, so I'm assuming so.

"The Ghost of Year 1"
That's the Ghosty. And since Egg Cave is into it's second year now, the Ghostar must be the Ghost of Year 2? I'm not sure, but I just get the feeling that the Ghosty isn't a permanant October creature, but the "Ghost" type creature is... if that makes sense.
I'm just guessing here though, trying to find a reason. 😋 I could be totally wrong!

Although I hope the Ghosty might visit us again one year, because I miss it. ☹️

@elluwah correct😊 They were the Ghost of year one.
However it goes,
The Ghost of Year One=Ghosty.
And
The DRAGON of Year Two=Halldrag.
Now it's should be
The ___________ Of Year Three= ___________.

This is because ghosty were 2009(?)
And Halldrag were 2010

And forget what I said about EC into it's second year, it's into its third so that was stupid of me to say. ;D

Guess I just want to know that the Ghosty disappeared for a reason. Poor, poor Ghosty... We all want you back! D:

@elluwah it's not a ghost every year;) It can be anything, it's just every year, some type of ghost will be among the Bash eggs, not the special last announcement egg😊 Also, if you look in the ghostar archive description, it clearly says ghosty have "mysteriously disappeared from the cave" which means they won't be back☹️

@icicle_9510 But it does say in the Ghosty description that every year at least one ghost visits EC. :S Obviously I shouldn't be taking it so literally, but I just came to believe that each year now, there WILL be some form of ghost creature during October, for Halloween. Just me guessing, though. 😊

Because so far, for three Octobers, we've had ghosts. I just don't see how they can get rid of that tradition now. 😋

Yep, as some people have said, Ghosties are retires. At least I think so. Their appearance in the cave last year was actually a glitch, and in all likelihood they are retired forever now that has been fixed.
