A Glitch With Inventories Has Occurred

Inventory Glitch

At approximately December 14, 2:31 PM ECT Inventory items restocked, received, or gifted between December 14, 5:03 AM ECT and December 14, 2:31 PM ECT were lost. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. This occurred due to an incorrect command being executed on a production database server without any safeguards requiring command confirmation.

UPDATE 3:14 PM — all users have been refunded the Egg Coins that they spent restocking items during this time. This has been added to your on-hand EC balances.

UPDATE 4:34 PM — Cash Shop inventory items purchased during this time frame have been fixed and restored to accounts. Very minimal impact.

Essentially, your Inventory has been reverted to what it looked like this morning at 5:03 AM ECT. We are very sorry that this has occurred!

Steps To Ensure This Doesn't Happen Again

To ensure that this does not happen again, Team Egg Cave will be putting in place proper safeguards to ensure that commands of this magnitude cannot be executed in a production environment without confirmation.

Advent Tree Note

Since the Advent Tree prize today does not include any items (and therefore no one has missed out on an item due to this glitch), the Advent Tree will not be reset today.

@lykhaos117 A production database server would be the server that the public has access to, so the Egg Cave site that everyone uses. There is also a test database server, which is where things are tested before they get released to the public.

[PT 1] I didn't buy anything, but I moved items into my inventory from my strongroom and now am missing them all- 27 to be exact.

[PT 2] I donated six as part of a thing I'm doing for Christmas, but none of the remaining 21 have been returned to my strongroom as I'd have 3 Willowisp candy dispensers if they had. Am I to assume they've been deleted? 😱 And if they haven't been deleted, what happened to them?

Should also note I should have more than just those three candy dispensers. Those three items are just the ones I remember most distinctly because I had two of each and donated one of each ^^;
