Noo I love the cosmos!!

mindwhiper • 6 days ago

You mean you're guys deleting things what ppl love and buying more often? Like a beautiful things? Or bunch of backgrounds for styling cove? Or, like, most needed things for quests? This is just ridiculous. I've never heard more irrational and st*pid algorithm before.

I just want to know who designed this loooooooooooooooool!

Feel awkward in saying that I'm unbothered with how this is being handled. Have never been an active item collector, so perhaps that's partly why. There are tons of newer travels that look just as nice as the 'popular' old ones anyway.

I'm glad I chose not to really anchor my interest in one strategy of investment, so "wild" developments like this allows me to just be merely apathetic rather than concerned. As long as the site exists, in a freemium way, I'll conform a routine.

Oh no, I think I'm responsible for the regular "egg" being retired ☹️ I bought them so that I could do a themed shop but now I'm realizing that a themed shop is going to make the items retire faster :/ The item retirement makes me a little mad.

Plz, add "retired items" to strngroom 😊

Not the cosmos ☹️ The best one of the bunch

So...Reading through All the comments... Does that now mean that Everyone is going to Mass Buy all the Items they don't like in the Hopes of getting them Retired Quicker? 😅

pooh • 5 days ago

@lexian An interesting idea... In any case, more logical than the idea of retiring popular items.

I'm also finding it a bit hard to believe that some of these items are the most circulated from their respective shops. The Sparkling Teapot for example was selling for over 12k. So there are more of those in circulation than the other teapots that go for 343 EC?

pjbuzzy • 5 days ago

More likely, people are going to mass buy anything pretty & likable in anticipation of retirements and then all we’ll be left with in rotation is stuff no one likes lolol

@plantparadise I do themed shops, too! I've done fruit, music, currently on cookies, and have been stocking up a ton for my next theme. But after this news, I feel like it's pointless to do a theme. :-( I'm just trying to make the site interesting and fun where it's possible. 😭

@okami The sparkling versions of items are higher rarity, and usually more desired for that reason and in general, so I think people try to own more regardless of cost. :-o And, keeping a big personal stock for quests so they don't have to pay a high user shop price.

daisycat • 5 days ago

I think retiring the oldest items, in chronological order, makes the most sense. Retiring items with the most in circulation isn't as logical here because those items... aren't actually in circulation...

daisycat • 5 days ago

...they're owned by collectors (especially popular travels). So it doesn't feel like the most efficient reasoning for why an item should be retired.

kataclysm • 5 days ago

Actually yeah, I found myself going through my store of 500+ stock and removing items I wouldn't want to sell in case they're popular enough to be on the chopping block next month. @Ian please weigh in and let us know what you think of points made here.

kataclysm • 5 days ago

(like the fact that this 'most popular items first' method is not only kind of illogical but exploitable, as lexian pointed out)

geddra • 5 days ago

wow so many items retiring

toebeans • 2 days ago

Hate the item retiring. Especially since there's no way to obtain them. 0/5 stars
