~ This wasn't how it was supposed to be.
My friends were supposed to come.
We were supposed to stop Claudia.
We were supposed to make it out safe, like we always do.
I felt the steady stream of warm, sticky blood flowing from my temple, and winced. This wasn't how it was supposed to be.

Debris, part of what used to be the incubator for bacteria crashed to the ground beside me, pulverizing my sketchbook. I looked up, my eyes wide as dinner plates with fear.
"Tricia! Get out of the way!" I whipped my head around just in time to see Hewitt collide with me, throwing me back. If he hadn't done that, I would have been crushed by a piece of cement, part of what used to be the ceiling.

Claudia had set her plan in motion. It was simple: Take a child off of their medication and set them loose, destroying everything. The child that she chose just happened to be able to change her size and weight. So when her power took over; when she went berserk, the child ended up destroying everything.

Everything was going exactly Claudia's way. ~

"Appearently, it was by Muse, so I have every song they written on this paper. I'll call them out, and lets see if they're right or not."
Leon started to call them out, starting the setence with, "Is it..."

~ I just happened to land next to the body of Marcus. It was painful to look at. Shriveled, all the life drained from it. Pale, still harboring the pain, the fear, the shock, that he had experienced in his final moments.
Drained. Because that was Claudia's power. She could drain energy. And use that energy to appear younger. To extend her life.

Marcus just reminded me. What was I thinking, hoping, no, BELIEVING that my friends could rescue me? What if they were still searching? What if they hadn't gotten my message?
What if they didn't care?

I shook the thought from my head, and dodged more rubble. All I needed to do now was stay alive. And go back..........Wait?! What if they didn't want me? Did I really want to go back? ~

~ Something caught my eye. It was Ray. He was struggling against Claudia, who had forced him against a wall.
"Ha. Did you ever imagine being reduced to this?" She taunted, her lips curled into a thin smile. Ray reached feebly towards Claudia's face. I knew what he was doing. He was trying to mimic Claudia's power. He could mimic someones power by touching their face.
Claudia slapped his hand away with an uninterested expression.
"Don't think I don't know what you're doing." Her words slithered out, burning my ears. "I know everything about you. And all of your /friends/ too." She spat the word 'friends' out like it was poisonous. She drained more of Ray's life out of him.
"I'll leave you alive, however, so that you can suffer while I tell you how I built this plan." Claudia dropped Ray to the ground, where he lay there, gasping for breath. I couldn't do anything. I was paralyzed with fear. ~

Jade woke up in the hotel in Hawaii. "What the heck?" she mumbled and rolled over. Her eyes snapped open in alarm. "Xavier? Guards?" she murmured. "Oh! dear, your awake." a kind man smiled. Jade remembered that face. The evil man's face but in a kind version. She gave him the O____o face and gripped her weapon, a pillow. It was his turn to give the O____o look.
