Sandre was woken in her quarters by Emerald snapping playfully at a little sparrow that had found it's way inside somehow.
Rubbing her eyes against the light streaming in, she gave an un-ladylike yawn which her mother would have despaired at, then opened the window wide and said, "Fethrblaka, flauga."
It looked at her in some confusion.
"Errrr.... Eitha," she said, and the bird, although still not really understanding, fluttered out the window.
*Your pronunciation is atrocious,* Emerald remarked, and she sighed.

Oliver moaned and rubbed his eyes. "I hate traveling.." Niamh snorted and shook her neck so Oliver was jolting around, trying to keep him wide awake. "Alright! I'm awake!" He glared at Niamh.
Niamh smiled and landed elegantly in front of the city's gates with a very haggard-looking boy on her back. *Smarten up and try a look nice, people are watching us!*

Shadrefel smiled and turned his back on him. "My student should get here shortly; she will show you around. Try not to attract TOO much attention... And your meal will be brought to your room in the evening." Then he walked off.


"Just you wait, I'll become a dragon rider," the boy boasted.
Sandre looked up at him. People said that a lot, and normally she scoffed at the chances, but him... She knew he could do it. She believed in him.
The jealousy and spite in his eyes when SHE'D been chosen... She'd never forget.

Sandre blinked and fell off her bed, which she'd been lazing around on, nothing else to do.
Oh, she knew she was meant to show the new guy around. But she wasn't going to.
