Reno went back to drawing. This time he drew the girl carrying her book. She was so absorbed in the book that she didn't even notice the mean girl with a spear sneaking up from behind.

Reno looked up at the mean girl climbing a tree. He felt bad for whoever she was climbing to. She zipped up next to a guy. It looked like she was trying to look at his tree carving. Reno rolled his eyes. He could see it from down here on the ground. It was a lynx. She didn't need to show off.

Oh okay hahaha.

The president came to a podium, at the center of the stage. "Attention!!" He shouted. "All of you children have been selected to be in the Competition of the Islands. Each of you will be assigned a mentor in one week to train you. I suggest that you say goodbye to your families and pack up your items in that spare time." He smiled wickedly, his face showing that almost none of them would survive. "Best of luck to all of you."

"Sure" Jasper said to Sylvia. He didn't listen to the president. Listening wast something that he liked, especially if it's very long.

Reno leaned back against the cool brick wall. A gentle breeze fluttered across his face. The leaves rustled in the tree tops. If the islands were like this, it wouldn't be so bad to die. Reno didn't feel like training. Maybe his mentor would be an artist.

The president turned slowly back to the audience. "You may come with me, young lady." Smiling coldly, he signaled to his guards. They grabbed the girl by her arms and chained handcuffs around her wrist. Dragging her up the steps, thy thought about how her future was about to become much different than she expected.

Sylvia stood like a rock. "Where you taking me? To the insane asylum?", Sylvia said then he brightened upto her pretend self and fake tears rolled out of her eyes. "Im sorry", she said with a sniff.

"No!!!!!!!" Kennedy screamed and ran up to the stage. "Don't hurt her! She's really nice!" Ok maybe she had just walked away from him and caught a knife with her bare hands, but he wasn't about to tell them that. Kennedy believed that there was goodness in everyone.

The president laughed at the fake crying girl. "Sorry, but you aren't getting off that easily." One of the guards started up the tree, reaching the girl in seconds. He grabbed her arm forcefully. "Come. No objections." Then he realized that the girl couldn't get out of his grip anyway. He climbed down, still holding her, and marched back to the rest of the guards. They pointed guns toward her, but didn't shoot. Yet.

Kennedy suddenly found himself alone on the stage. Everyone had walked away from him. Again. Any normal person would have either gotten really sad or really angry, but Kennedy was not a normal person. Kennedy ran up to the president. "Please! Maybe you can let me watch her, be like a guard or something."

The guard laughed at this child's attempt to free his friend. "Not a chance. Get off the stage, or suffer the unknown." The president pulled Sylvia aside. "You do not disrespect me. I assume that it might have been because of the shock of the competition, but you will still be punished." He said in a low voice.
