OKAY! listen, all im saying is the 09s are worth more, but there not worth tons more. if your not going to read the whole comment, dont post.
naervon • 26 December 2011 at 1:51 PM
@deannablanco3 It was only example, Breyer is American horse model maker since half of 20th century. I just wanted to say, that I disagree with "date rarity" here, but date mostly (not in pet games) matters for me.
orange • 26 December 2011 at 1:51 PM
@deannablancoWould you read MY whole comment too?I read yours, top to bottom.@balletninjaFor the first time, we totally agree with each other.
balletninja • 26 December 2011 at 1:52 PM
I think we need to close this board. @sky Good example 😉I wish Ian wold give us users something special in our cove. To separate us and our hard work. Like one creature, it won't totally make things better. But it could help a bit!
Deleted • 26 December 2011 at 1:52 PM
@orange i did. i wasnt talking to you with that comment. if you had read mine, you would have seen how i said the 09 were worth more, but not tons more.
linpug • 26 December 2011 at 1:52 PM
@balletninja is totally right >.<
unebra • 26 December 2011 at 1:52 PM
i totally agree with all of this 😸 😈 it makes me so mad when people over offer and try to rip people off when they know the value but it is another thing when it is a newbie or they dont know the value of that critter. 😈
Deleted • 26 December 2011 at 1:54 PM
okay, you dont need to attack me for saying there not worth tons more poeple! im just asking that people keep that stuff in mind. this is a rant, not a 'attack people for stating what they think' board.
orange • 26 December 2011 at 1:54 PM
@deannablanco3You know what? I'm sorry, we are FRIENDS!I dont really care if you have a different opinion. I am gonna forget about tis topic ok 😉

briseis • 26 December 2011 at 1:55 PM
Hard work? Let me tell you something about hard work.Hard work is what you make of it. You shouldn't receive a prize or an award for doing something and doing it the right way. The only "reward" you should receive from your "hard work" is the satisfaction YOU feel from doing so. You shouldn't expect praise or special treatment for doing it. That is selfish, childish thinking.
balletninja • 26 December 2011 at 1:59 PM
@briseis Depends on the way you look at it.Hard work at a soup kitchen; Reward: Happy, full people.Hard work in the yard; Reward: a pretty yard.It just depends 😉 Look at it from different perspectives. Like a painting of hard-working XD

While some may believe '09 Christmas creatures have the same value as '11 Christmas creatures, others say '09 creatures are worth more. It varies from person to person.It is true that they are identical, but there are less '09 Christmas creatures on Egg Cave. This may not matter to some, but others may value them more because of this.Different people have different views on this matter. It really depends on the person. You may value equally, but others value '09 creatures more than '11 creatures.The Christmas creatures were re-released only yesterday. There are no set values yet. Some people might believe one is worth a Flaren, while other may think one is worth many rare creatures. As time takes its toll, it will become more clear what they can be traded for, whether by rarity or demand.In addition, many people have worked hard to get Christmas creatures, only to find they are once again in the cave. To them, this might be unfair. The fact that it's from '09 separates their creature from the '11 ones, making it special.I'm not trying to sway your opinion; I only mean to introduce another way of thinking of this situation.I personally think this topic has gone overboard. While I understand your opinion, I believe you've gone a bit too far expressing it. (;

I think this topic should be done now...CLOSED (: 😃 Yay for closed topic!
balletninja • 26 December 2011 at 2:03 PM
@ladybugheart Yup. It has.I have been trying to keep this lighthearted.But, I knew this was coming ever since I was a newbie. If I was still new, I would probably be on the "they are not worth more" side. Meh. Working hard is funner and less boring.

@balletninja hard work is hard work. The reward is your own personal satisfaction. You should not receive a prize or special treatment for doing something that is good, right, or expected. People nowadays expect to be rewarded for things that they themselves have put their own effort into. Trading dozens of rare creatures for a Foo was your own personal endeavor. Why should you be rewarded for that? Other people have Foos, Roos, Swornts, Treelars and Florns now, and that's just the way it is. Why should anyone with a 2009 creature receive something special for doing something for themselves?

THIS BOARD IS CLOSED! contuine else where.
balletninja • 26 December 2011 at 2:08 PM
@briseis Don't assume things now 😊 Look, your first sentence says it all. You aren't willing to accept my opinion. I am not about to shove it down your throat, and I hope you respect me not wanting it forced on me either.@zac @ meteoroid @annapashmina @ian Close this soon? 😉

I don't really get all the angry people on here. If you're not happy with the trade, then don't trade. The difference in value isn't even that pronounced anymore, 2009 creatures are going for way less than a couple of days ago. Also I do think there is a (small) difference in value based merely on sentiment, like getting a first edition pokemon card. The cause for the low values is that many people got these pets for free recently and some are willing to trade for low amounts, which is why people aren't willing to offer much yet. As soon as people find they'll have to offer more to get these pets, the value will rise again.And don't think you're the only one getting low offers, someone just asked for my frozen first stage (2009) Foo offering a new Foo egg, I mean, I'm sorry dude/dudette but you're (at the very least) one freeze short there :/

Again: to anybody who was upset by yesterday's update, I'm really sorry. In case you didn't see my other thought in another topic yesterday, we aren't ever re-releasing retired creatures again, whether limited, extinct, endangered, Cash Shop, etc.With regards to the rarity of the '09 vs '11 Christmas creatures, I view any rarity collectively as a species. The species collective weighted rarity (the number in The Archives) is still the master indicator of a species rarity.I think it's important to distinguish between age, rarity, and value here. Perhaps that's where it's getting fuzzy.- Age: when a creature was stolen or born.- Rarity: how scarce are these creatures of all creatures in Ark?- Value: determined by creature age, its stats, evolutions, and Travel.I would say that, YES the '09 Christmas creatures are definitely more VALUABLE but that doesn't make them more "rare." Why more valuable? Well because age and value are directly tied together. The '09 creatures have more stats, have evolved, have rarer Travels, etc. But that doesn't mean '09 Christmas creatures are more "rare" then '11.And here's a funny thought: in 2009, there were about 30 Cave creatures; in 2011, almost 150. Your chances in 2009 = 1/30. Your chances in 2011 = 1/150. So yeah... what's "more rare?" It all depends on the angle you look at it from.Hopefully these thoughts will help put more things into perspective. For now, this topic has been closed. 😊Thanks all!
