I personally like the Christmas creatures being re-released but I know a lot of people were upset, and I can understand why. I know @Ian has said he will never do re-releases again, but I think it's fine. There just need to be a couple of conditions to make it fair for everyone.1. It should state in the creatures profile that there is always a chance that it could appear in the cave again.2. Only NEW creatures should be available for re-release, and only if it's stated in their profile. Existing creatures shouldn't be released again. There will still be people who will trade tons of creatures/eggs for a particular species, but at least they know that it COULD be re-released, and that's the chance they're taking. It would also help to keep creature values in check, because fewer people would make crazy offers if they knew that the creature might come back. And of course it would give people who missed the first releases a chance to get creatures that might not otherwise be able to get. What are everyone's thoughts on this?#rereleases#suggestions

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Love it? Hate it? I'm curious what people think. 😊

Yes, Ian should make new pets that will be re-released, nothing wrong with that, as long as he says so 😋Like how Ghosties SHOULD have been, every October!@Ian 😊
crescentfeather • 4 January 2012 at 1:55 AM
I guess 😋 Just nothing TOO big. Like Tines. Tines are too valuable to become available again...
xxfangexx • 4 January 2012 at 3:23 PM
this would make it easier for newer users to get the eggs they missed by a small margin, though, i doubt it'll go into affect. people go WAY overboard for certain eggs (tine, florn, foo, luvlei)i digress, #rereleases

Like this idea 😸And @xxfangexx dont forget onnys 😋

@xxfangexx and @crescentfeather I don't think that any of those creatures should be re-released. Ian has said that he wouldn't, and some people traded a LOT for them. I only think that NEW creatures/eggs should be available for re-release, and I think that it should say that in their profile...something like "(insert creature here) was available in February 2012, but there's always a chance that it could one day return to the ark."I'm glad that people seem to like this idea overall. 😊

@musicgurl333The only reason I disagree with this is because it is, in my opinion, a waster of time.Ian's OFFICIAL statement was:"1. These creatures will only be available for today and shall not be re-released again.2. They will still be extremely rare and limited either way. This is only for a mere 12 hours. As a side note, we're being brutal against multiple accounts this time around to ensure their rarity is balanced.3. From here on out, I've made an official decision to never re-release former Cave or Cash Shop Park creatures, whether limited, endangered, or extinct"Note the NEVER RE-RELEASE part. He said he won't re-release, so that's that.

@pegasu Maybe, but I don't think it's a waste of time. I know he said that he'll never re-release creatures...but he said that before, and we saw what happened. The reason he says he's not going to do it is because a lot of people were really upset about the Christmas creatures(and I don't blame them). I think the ideas in my first post would fix that problem, and make it more fair for everyone.I really don't think there's nothing wrong with re-releases. They're fun, and they add a little excitement to eggcave. 😊 The problem is that when you say that a creature is gone forever, it should be gone forever. Otherwise it's not fair to people who traded a lot to get a certain creature that they thought was never coming back. BUT that problem could be fixed by adding a note to the profiles of FUTURE creatures (not past creatures like florns, tines, onnies, roos, etc.) saying that they COULD come back at some point. That way you could still have re-releases, but FAIRLY. 😊I also think that it would have been fine to briefly re-release former commons that are now "endangered" like aerlo, drakomo, etc. But now that Ian's said that they won't come back, he should stick to that.

@musicgurl333 I think rereleases are ok but the reason we want them is because they are rare. I think if they want to bring out the same creature they should make it look different by giving it a piece of clothing or something like they did the Yeep for thanksgiving insted. Xx
musicgurl333 • 5 January 2012 at 10:37 PM
@lucie They would still be rare. The re-releases could just be for a short time, and some creatures might not be re-released at all...but at least they COULD be re-released. 😊

In my opinion, endangered creatures should (eventually - not immediately) become either available again, or retired. Because 'endangered' means the population is smaller than it should be; couldn't it eventually go back to normal, or just go extinct (retired)?

I think it should happen. Why should those who moaned, complained and were just downright hateful about it be the voices that were heard? In the end many of these same complainers made lots of trades and had "friends" and "relatives" sign up for that day. It is your fault you traded so much , not anyone else's. Never trade more than your willing too. Every game site re-releases I have said that for eons it would happen here and it did. Yes I know people have mentioned Balrog's for example. I'm talking about a bigger re-release was going to happen.I traded for my '09 creatures and was very happy they were re-release cause many who did not have a chance were able to get a dream pet or two.Lots of people were happy about it, but human nature always reacts more to negativity and that is what happened. This is my POV 😊
lucie • 10 January 2012 at 9:35 AM
@kitsune maybe, but a lot do. It would give it a fairer balance people who didn't play long enough could still have a chance without ruining the desire for some to have an original / for the ones who do have an original. I know I only want a Tine because its beautiful AND hard to get hold of. I would not want it so much if it was common. X

I'm glad most people seem to like this idea. 😊 I know the board died for a while, but I just saw it again in my "recent topics" and I wanted to thank people for their support. 😊 Anyone else like this idea?

@musicgurl333 I totally agree! That would be so much easier if people knew it had a chance of coming back. I totally missed the Christmas re-release because I was out with family. A lot of a people, I've heard, missed it because of family gatherings. :/

I totaly agree! I got my dreamie because of the rerealase! 😸
