Cynders tried to smile.

Just then, the doctor poked the needle into Cynders' smooth body.

"MEW!!" Cynders yelled and started running around the room.

Destiny hid under a table to prevent herself from getting burnt by a chemical or something. 'This is what happens every year when Cynders gets her shot,' thought Destiny.

'Well, maybe it did hurt more than I expected it to be. Cynders is acting a little... hyper? I don't know how to describe it. Anyway, there's only one injection, right?' Diana said.

Cypress bent down under the table and helped Destiny up, to tell her it was safe. 'Nothing dangerous happened.'

"Yeah," Destiny checked her watch. "It's lunchtime now, so we better get going down to the canteen to eat. I've been waiting to eat that delicious hamburger all day!" she licked her lips.

'That's surprising, this assembly was the shortest I've been to and they're rushing us to hear it,' Cypress mused.

They walked down the staircase and outside the building. The canteen was a few hundred metres away, and it seemed that almost every building was. He sat down on a bench, the same one as before, and took out his lunch box.

"Yay!" Destiny said, opening her Tasma-shaped lunchbox. "It's a cat-shaped burger! 😊 It looks good!" Destiny grabbed the hamburger and took a big bite out of it.

"By the way, where's Cynders? She should have been here by now." Destiny looked around.

'I assumed that you brought her with you. Hmm, maybe she's still upstairs,' Diana said. 'I can go up there and search for her, if you like. I'm not that hungry right now, anyway.' She stood up and walked towards the hall, and reached the entrance in a matter of seconds.

"Cynders maybe still at the vet, Diana." she panted.

"Hm, why isn't Diana coming back? We should be going to bed soon." Destiny yawned. It sure would be nice to sleep.

Out of the blue, a mysterious figure appeared. He was completely black, with the Ceberus (a three headed dog) with him. Shadows surrounded him.

Destiny gasped. This figure seemed similar. Then she remembered. He was the one who accidentaly gave Destiny her powers when she was young. He came back for revenge.

"Come here, Destiny..." Mr Mysterious loud voice boomed.

Diana looked outside the window. It was getting dark, but for some reason she couldn't find the vet's office. It was three rooms on the left when coming up the staircase, she thought. But why isn't it here?

"Diana! He's after me! He's after me!" Destiny said as she ran past Diana. She ran up to the roof, where she saw Cynders trying to fly.

She grabbed the cat and jumped off the roof. "Fly! FLY!" She yelled. Cynders sighed and actually managed to fly until a tree.

'Cynders can carry your weight as well?' Diana turned around and saw a huge three-headed dog and a mysterious man cloaked in shadows.

All three of Cerberus' heads barked at her, and with three heads, the bark was deafening. 'What are you doing here in the middle of the night with a three-headed dog?' Diana asked. She didn't know where she got the courage to ask that question.

Destiny told Cynders to get to Diana.

"D-diana, t-that's Mr Mysterious. H-he accidentaly gave me m-my powers and he c-came back to take it back..." Destiny stammered.

'Well, that's really stupid of him. I don't know how he accidentally gave you your powers, but coming to take them back because of a mistake is--' Diana stopped midway through her sentence as she jumped out the window with Cynders.

Cynders brought Diana to the bench under the oak tree, then went back for Destiny.

But by the time Cynders got back, Destiny was cornered my Mr Mysterious, who was holding a ball of light in his hand. Cynders pushed Destiny out of the way, which led to the little cat losing her wings. Mr Mysterious disappeared in a flash of light.

With tears in her eyes, Destiny carried Cynders down to Diana.

Diana saw Destiny and Cynders approaching. She noticed that the cat's wings were gone and suspected that the man attacked.

'I can't believe that the mysterious man actually attacked you! Now Cynders can't fly, and there's a dangerous person roaming around...' Diana sat down on the bench and thought for a minute. 'Destiny, if you don't mind telling me, how did he give you your powers?'

Just then Cypress came rushing outside, catching his breath.

"Well, it's like this. Mr Mysterious used to be the one god that ruled my land. But one day there was a bad, bad storm that made that god into Mr Mysterious. He would give powers to people. And one tiny bottle of Balance broke, and the power went to me. He knew that. Ever since, he wanted to restore that bottle by taking my powers. Mr Mysterious also took Cynder's powers, which was given by another god." Destiny said.

'So... he would give powers to people, but gave yours on accident and wanted to take them back because he doesn't want you to have them. That's strange. But if Cynders' powers are from another god, he had no right to take them. Of course, unless it was by accident again,' Diana sighed. She looked up into the oak's branches as if she was thinking of something.

'Um, sorry to interrupt your conversation, but there's a man in my bedroom, and he doesn't look ordinary. I could have defeated him myself, but he doesn't look solid enough to physically fight,' Cypress said and sat down on the bench next to Diana. 'I'm pretty sure he followed me out of the room, but he's nowhere to be found.'

"Cypress, was that man cloaked in black, holding a tiny bottle of wings in his hand, and has a giant three-headed dog? If so, stay away from him. You'll lose your powers, like Cynders." she showed the cat to Cypress.

"And Diana, he wants powers from other gods too, you know. It makes him more powerful and maybe one day he will become invincible." Destiny turned to Diana.

'N-no, he wasn't wearing black, wasn't holding anything and didn't have a giant three-headed dog. He was-- now that I think of it, I can't remember. But he was carrying a mirror of some sort...'

She nodded. 'So we must stop him. But how?'

'STUDENTS! What are you doing out of bed? It was lights-out two hours ago! Do you have any idea what time it is?!' The teacher grumbled and walked up to them. She pointed at her digital watch. It read 23:00.

She got into bed. "Cypress, I've never heard of anyone who carries a mirror into a stranger's bedroom in the middle of the night." Destiny yawned.

She closed her eyes and dreamed of marshmallows and unicorns...

'Actually, I'm not sure what gender the person was. And my point exactly. Something mysterious is going on,' Cypress answered, but he soon fell asleep when he got into bed.

Diana went to bed as well. She was pretty shaken up by the whole idea of a suspicious person who steals everyone's powers. She thought for a moment, then closed her eyes.

The next day, she woke up startled. It had felt like a dream of somebody who had taken Cypress' powers, but she wasn't sure.
