What?? Weird đ
leopardclaws • 17 January 2012 at 10:38 PM
That's quite odd! I hope Egg Cave will still be online.

Certain sites will be black. There are news articles and stuff. If you wanna know more, look it up.
cubexline • 17 January 2012 at 10:39 PM
I dont think we'll have to worry about eggcave "blacking out". Not sure which one(s), but I doubt eggcave will be one of them.Edit: http://www.startupceo.co.za/2012/01/17/sopa-internet-blackout-18-january/ that lists sites that will black out(I think...)
leopardclaws • 17 January 2012 at 10:41 PM
http://idealab.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/01/sopapipa-supporters-blast-blackout-day.phpI found a website,it has to do with (sigh) SOPA! Drat you, SOPA! Egg Cave has done nothing to provoke the government or taken part in the illegal act of piracy, so we should be fine though! But who knows, this IS the government we are speaking of!

=.= politics.
toy • 17 January 2012 at 10:44 PM
While Egg Cave has hundreds of users,It is still too small of a site. They are trying to make a statement by blacking out various websites,And Egg Cave is just too small to make a statement like that.Unless of course Ian wants to support opposing this bill..Which I don't think he cares since it won't even be affecting this site.
Deleted • 17 January 2012 at 10:45 PM
@toy =.= whew. still.
takaedakumi • 17 January 2012 at 10:47 PM
@toy You should take a look at Ian's status...http://eggcave.com/profile/Ian
leopardclaws • 17 January 2012 at 10:48 PM
@toy I don't know if he is necessarily opposing the SOPA bill per say, however, he is certainly against it, just check out his status.
Deleted • 17 January 2012 at 10:50 PM
if this happens to ANY of my games, they are dead.
toy • 17 January 2012 at 10:53 PM

cubexline • 17 January 2012 at 10:55 PM

Wikipedia is blacked out, if you wanna know why go there and click the 'learn more' link on the page. The short version is that in the US there are two bills against piracy being considered which could seriously limit free speech on the internet and even ruin sites like wikipedia. This is because it allows the US government to take down/block not only sites with copyright infringing content, but also any sites with links to this content and demands that the sites themselves moderate all this content. Also, these bills allow all sorts of abuse, but internet experts agree that it won't even stop piracy.#blackout #wikipedia #wikipediablackoutI've actually known about this for a while, because I'm an otaku and the manga scanlating community will also be hugely affected by this. Also Youtube and any other site like it which features the occasional copyrighted material could be taken down COMPLETELY if infringement continues. So if you have a Twitter/Facebook/Google account please show your support, because something like this isn't just "something political", it affects us all.

@enigzimaIf these new internet bills pass...I am going to be so depressed...
zafeyry • 18 January 2012 at 3:25 PM
Thank god Google is still up, it's the most popular website in 20+ countries. Wikipedia is blacked out, which makes me sad âšī¸
Deleted • 18 January 2012 at 3:27 PM
My science teacher was talking about this during class... ;^; i hope it does not pass as a law...
dreamer • 18 January 2012 at 3:37 PM
Wikipedia isn't lacked out... Just went on there. đąBlackOut day reminds me of a song though. Danggg. T_TIf you go to dragCave, they changed their theme to stop Sopa.If Youtube gets blacked out. THEN it gets serious.Wait a sec... Just clicked another page on wiki with details on the blackout...They said that they themselves blacked it out. I think websites are just blacking themselves out to show people what Sopa can do and helping stop it.
Deleted • 18 January 2012 at 3:38 PM
@dreamer actually wikipedia is. Try searching on it and then a few seconds later it redirects you to a new page...
harrypotter123698 • 18 January 2012 at 3:40 PM
I know alot of sites that blacked out -_-Aywas, and adoptable site did.Google censored their logo with black...Wikipedia also did for a while....Dragon Cave did....I will LITERALLY throw my laptop in the garbage if Youtube does...I hope SOPA doesent pass đą
whitefall • 18 January 2012 at 3:43 PM
SIGN THE PETITION GUYShttps://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/
dreamer • 18 January 2012 at 3:47 PM
@Whitefall I'd sign it, but don't you tihnk my parents would know if I entered my ZIP Code and everything? đą I mean I guess I could sign, butttttt...
whitefall • 18 January 2012 at 3:48 PM
@dreamerI really don't care~If someone stalked me and killed me - I was meant to die sometime, right? (:
Orderedchaos • 18 January 2012 at 3:53 PM
You can't be tracked down for signing a petition. Your zip code is not enough information to find you. @dreamer If your parents say anything about you signing it, show them the links about how SOPA/PIPA would negatively affect the internet and sites they use every day.
cubexline • 18 January 2012 at 3:59 PM
It also asks for a last name... Im not signing it if Im forced to put my last name.
Orderedchaos • 18 January 2012 at 4:02 PM
@cubexline The only required fields are the zip code and email ones. You don't have to put in your name if you don't want too.Edit: Under the "How we use your information" link:"Your first name and last initial may be published publicly as part of the petition to Congress. Your email address may be used to send you updates on SOPA/PIPA and other Internet policy initiatives. Your zip code is used to display the groundswell across the country and inform the appropriate members of Congress for your district and state. That?s it. Your personal information is in no way connected to any other Google services or Google account."
