Wolves of the forest: will you lead your pack?

yeah... i brought it back because i wasnt sure whether it was poisonous. i was never good with that kind of thing. Avi dropped the snake and ran back into the fields. as she trotted up to the tree she was startled to find that the vines and fruit had gone. she wasnt hallucinating, was she?

Avi circled the tree and several others around it, but found no snakebite plant. Sunstorm hadn't been fooling her? had he? she was positive she saw fruit... maybe she really was going crazy.

when Avi reached the clearing, her leg was throbbing. "OK sunstorm, very funny. now really, where is the snakebite plant? my leg is starting to really hurt."

"Good. How about-" Cast broke of, looking at Avi. Oh no... Cast started to panic. He had never had the least experience with snakes. "Sunstorm!"

"I'm on it, Cast. Avi, stay perfectly still. Now I recognized that snake....its deadly. If you make one bad move, it could send the venom deeper into your body. I'll go get the antidote." Sunstorm practically flew across the forest, a golden blur. Finally, he reached the tree. The fruit was gone! But then he noticed another one nestled in the upper branches. He took a running leap and pulled himself into the tree. He gently took the berry between his teeth and rushed back to camp. He gently placed the berry at Avi's feet. "Hurry, eat it."

Avi quickly took the berry and swallowed it. her first thought was that it wouldn't work, but slowly the pain started to fade. "thanks Sunstorm." Avi looked away. "sorry, this was all my fault. i shouldn't have messed with the snake, i really have no experience with them, and i had no idea." she looked over at the dead snake lying on the ground and then at the rabbits she had hunted earlier.

"we shouldnt let this ruin the feast." she said, smiling. Avi walked over to the pile and dropped a rabbit at sunstorm's paws, and did the same for Cast.

Sunstorm smiled at his friends. "I'm impressed, for our first hunt, we have a feast! Enjoy it, you deserve it. " Sun took a bite of trout and began to distribute the fish.

"Phew." Cast looked relieved. "Anyway, what I was going to say was we should have a practice so we are all up to speed. We need to be much, much better than the Thunderfangs. They outnumber us by far."

Watching them eat the deer reminding Eternal how hungry she was. She couldn't remember when she'd last eaten. She slunk off to hunt.

BrightStar munched with GrayFlood on the small fawn he caught. She wasn't that hungry anyway.
"GrayFlood, is it okay if we start training you in fighting moves in a few weeks?" BrightStar asked the young pup.
"sure,anytime!" GrayFlood repied, wagging his tail. "I'm going to explore, and i'll be careful." the small pup licked BrightStar's muzzle. Then he ran off into the woods.

Avi jumped back, surprized and got back into the defense stance. She then swiped back, just testing her own skills.

GrayFlood heard the commotion and followed then to the river.
"Come on, BrightStar, I want to catch a fish!!" GrayFlood, said laughing.

GrayFlood wagged his tail at the (a little) bigger wolf.
"Sure!!" GrayFlood exclaimed. Then, he started running. "Come on, slowpoke!!"

He managed to squeeze out from under her paws, and he escaped onto the pebbley ground.

Avi copied the move. it felt unnatural, she guessed only because she hadnt ever tried it before. she wasn't particularly fond of the idea of fighting, but with only 3 wolves in Blizzardmoon, and who knows haw many in Thunderfang, she knew she had to try. being in a pack either way, she knew she would eventually have to learn.
