When we are apart, small kernels explode, startling me.

At first I was blind,
Didn't realize how amazing you were,
Your one of a kind,
Because that I am sure.
You were higher than the sky,
But I never got to say goodbye.

Id rather not say who that's about, but she was my first friend here. One day, I went to her profile and she was gone. She had quit and I didn't even know. I never even got to say bye.

It was for a user who quit, @bhersey (Fluffy now uses her account)

Bleeding roses are red
Deploring violets are blue
Who needs relationships
When our amity is true

When bereaved, when broken
It brings on tattered memories
When hearts were broken
By souls of ebony

Thank you all so much for the entries into the Caved In Hearts Contest. It has been a joy reading each one. 😃 😃 😃

I realize that once you start writing words can flow like a river but this is a short poem contest to keep it short and sweet. This way most can join even if not into writing just to wish their best friend a nice holiday and tell them they love each other. This is what makes Egg Cave wonderful!! 😸

If you have a long poem please shorten it to 6 lines max.
You can take the best from it and re-edit your poem.

As per the rules, you are only allowed from 4 to 6 lines as the entire poem. ONE (1) poem per person submitted only.

Example:

Dedicated to my friend @catherineprettty. 😊

You are special and unique to me,
someone I can express myself to freely.
Things you say each day make me smile,
I can imagine you smiling back all the while.
A friend very precious to me in everyway,
I wish you a beautiful Valentine's Day!!

This is just an example as the poem should be entered here.

Tomorrow, February 26th, is the last day to enter the contest. No exceptions, please understand our wishes.

** Everyone has until Midnight (12:00 am) February 27th to have their poem checked over and last edited. **

It will be 3 whole days of @catherineprettty and myself critiquing each poem. March 2, all winners will be notified.
