I found a dead squirrel!!!
Yay!

I am so happy I have a second one now ❤️

How to taxidermy a Squirrel:
~ Pick up off the road
~ Freeze ( not with Essence of Litsdnats)
~ Soak in warm water with soap
~ Dry off
~ Cut open
~ Trow away the meat and bone, or keep for skull
~ Stuff with foam, insulation, wire, whatever
~ Sew up
~ Pose and let dry

The face isn't messed up like the first one.

My boy friend is grossed out since it is in our freezer XD

We're going to be dissecting stuff in Science and I'm not sure if I should pretend to freak out or not (to get out of it).
I'm not actually scared or going to throw up or anything, but... It's still somewhat gross and I don't really want to do it ^^

No way! When I had to do that in school
I was so fascinated by it.
Do you know what animal you have to do?
I did a frog.

When I did my first squirrel I was kind of grossed out
until all the skin was off and I had gotten rid of the "meat" o.@

It isn't too bad, the smell of them is a little disconcerting though.
It depends on how they come to your school and what you are dissecting.

If it a piglet it will be in formaldehyde, frog would be
in a light coating of formaldehyde

Then again, I am surprised they still let kids do dissections
if only because of the dangers of kids having their hands on formaldehyde and what they can do with it o.o;

You'll be fine though 😃
You get to wear gloves, so you never have to touch anything.

Hahaa XD the only time I play with them is when they just get stuffed and I wiggle them in front of my parents XD
Other wise they are just practice pieces.
It takes years to get good at it, So I am teaching my self.
It also helps because I am currently studying to be a Vet Tech.

@piucca yeah, we wore gloves, were given the tools and the fish, then we have to open them out and draw the inner guts later 😊 we didn't do much though, only fish and squid, so I think we will be doing more in Bio next year 😃
