Pixle laughed as Charlie started dancing, but stopped and looked over at the horizon, stepping back 'that doesnt seem too good

A cloud of dust was pushed skyward as Brenden landed his hoverboard. Charlie sighed and turned to Pixle, 'Well, looks like its back to Phase 3.' Brenden hopped off the board and glared at the zany couple, 'Phelk, Selkma! Get your hippie butts outta here! How could you fraternize with the ENEMY!' he bellowed. The winged giraffe licked the back of Brenden's head with its massive tongue. 'Back off, you putrid beast!' he spat. Turning to Pixle and Charlie, a malicious grin grew on his face. 'Now you two, Phase 3 starts in one hour. I expect you to be there, or you little trip to Klaxion will be permintly ENDED!'. With a huff, Brenden stepped on his board and sped off. Charlie glanced back at Pixle.

Pixle held back a slight laugh as he left before her grin faded and she sighed "Guess wee have to go then" she sighed, looking over at the couple and shrugging before looking back at charlie, her eyes seemed dark and her gaze was distant, but she still held a smile on her face.

Phelk looked at the two with sad eyes, 'Ya need a ride back? We can fit ya in.' Charlie glanced at Pixle and nodded, 'Awesome, thanks!'. Charlie climbed into the back seat and waited for Pixle to follow suit.

With a bang and the clatter of tin cans, the hovercar rocket foward. Phelk floored the pedal and lauched the craft into the sky. 'Hang on, dudes!' Charlie gripped the side of the car; there were no seatbelts to hold him in. After bouncing across the sky, Phelk landed a distance from the Complex. A crowd gathered holding signs that read, 'Charlie and Pixle Must Die!' Breathing rapidly, Charlie stepped from the vehical and nodded at the two. 'Thanks'. 'No problem!' Selkma replied, 'But one last thing, win that dang game. We're rooting for ya!' She slipped off her jacket to reveal a t-shirt with Charlie and Pixle face on it. 'Creepy' Charlie muttered, looking at his on face.

Charlie followed Pixle to the front of the building. Brenden was waiting for them, arms crossed. 'Ahhh, now you decide to show up.' Brenden turned to the crowed and began his speech, 'Fellow people of Klaxion, our 'friends' have survived the first two phases, but shall perish during the third. As you know, the third is tougher, longer and mentally taxing. I shall lead them to the chamber and the game shall comense!' Brended grabbed thier wrists and bound them together. Dragging them toward a metal chamber, Brenden smiled evily, 'Prepare to meet you worst nightmares!' He slammed the door after he shoved the two in a small metal box.

Pixle shuddered slightly, her shoulders quivered for a moment as she looked over at charlie "cant he just flat out say "ok now im gonna try to kill you again, hav fun!" ???" she asked, her voice full of nervousness

Charlie smiled, 'Wouldn't that be nice,' Brenden bolted the door shut and pressed a series of buttons. 'Good luck!' he hissed. Suddenly, it felt as if they were standing in a wind tunnel. The metal box began to shake. Almost without warning, the shaking stopped, throwing Pixle and Charlie against the cold steel wall. Open on its own, the door creaked. Charlie, chained to Pixle, stepped outside. It seemed to be some sort of warzone. Soldiers carried minesweepers and gingerly walk through the grassy feild.

Pixle shuddered a bit, locking up for a few moments as she looked over the scene "wow" she muttered, watching the soldiers, her heart raced as she watched one inparticular "dude move, dont step there!" she whispered to herself, an ear ringing blast echoed through the air as dirt flew and the mine was tripped

'Pixle, didn't you say you worked as a minewalker?' Charlie inquired, raising an eyebrow. 'Do you remember him?' Charlie wathched as the man's leg fell limply to the ground. Dragging himself along the dirt, crimson tendrils snaked across the ground. Shrapnel caut into the man's face creating sevral large gashes. Dirt flew from the ground and sprayed Charlie in the face. Another mine had blown. This time a young boy, no older than ten had triggered. Staggering the boy fell to the ground. The left side of his face had been blow clean off. Blood seeped from his face. Bone poked out of the skin. Charlie turned and retched.

"yes but...no i dont know anyone here...I dont think..." she muttered as she watched the field, her heart racing "though I wouldnt call it a fear...it isnt plesant though" she muttered, biting her lip as she watched the scene, the yellowy field of desert grass was a deathtrap, coated in red, and craters.

Charlie glanced back at Pixle and grimaced, 'I can't belive your 'dad' forced you to do this,' Shuffling slowly, Charlie took in his surrounds hoping to aviod any mines. He wondered if this was real of just some fantasy. The dead grassy snapped under his weight. The young boy cried in pain, 'Mooommmmmy!' he wailed. Suddenly, a blood curdling shriek erupted from the scene.

"he didn't, it was just something they had us do when i was orphaned..." she muttered, holding onto Charlie's hand as they walked, she could feel a mine here and there, stopping and freezing up at the scream "what the heck was that.." she muttered, looking over her shoulder.
@swimforlife XD idk, I was bored one day, and wanted her to have this mysterious background, so the orphanage had this program and they would take the children who looked as though they wouldnt have a chance in life-pixle's real looks are mangled and she has prosthetic right arm and left leg- and sent them out on the fields, she only did it for a few years until she was adopted =P she's been all over the place XD

A young girl, who had a striking resemblence to Pixle was catapulted into the air. Her right arm and left leg were effortlessly torn from her body. Charlie watched in horror as the young girl screamed. Blood pooled beneath her frail body. Glancing at Pixle, Charlie held back tears, 'Was that you!?!"

@swimforlife lol no its fine XD and if you do, that'd be awesome =O wait a minute you got that spot on XDD when we had the whole "make a character by roleplaying" she had her arm partially rippped to shreads by machinery, and then both the arm and her leg were amputated post accidental mine explosion

Pixle was wide eyed and frozen in shock, she shuddered slightly as she burried her face in Charlie's shoulder, still quivering. her hand clenched tightly around Charlie's as she stayed, unmoving.

Charlie gingerly cradled Pixle's head. 'Its okay Pixle, its just the mental part of this Phase. Everything is going to be okay.' He gently smoothed her golden streaked locks. Drawing her close, he released a long sigh. 'Did that really happen? What about your...arm...and....leg...' he stuttered, not wanting to drag up difficult memories.

Pixle pulled back and pulled up her sleeve, the dark silvery metal glinted in the dull light "yes it did happen" she muttered lowly, jerking down her sleeve again, the hand looked perfecly normal, though everything else was hard dented metal. shuddering again, rhe rubbed one of her eyes and hung her head, shuddering slightly

Charlie's eyes darkened, 'I am so sorry, I had not idea.' The handiwork of the prosthetic was flawless; the skin looke real. Pulling her even closer, Charlie let out another sigh. 'What do we do from here? If this is real, one false step and we both could end up dead'

"im not sure...just walk lightly.." she muttered as she took a few steps "you can see some of them easily... like divits or small mounds, where they were buried poorly," she pointed out a soft looking spot "like that" she muttered

Charlie gripped her hand tightly, he wasn't sure if it was her good or bad hand. He stepped catiously, avoiding mounds and divets. Another mine blew in the distance, shattering the almost eerie silence. Another scream filled the air, this time it sounded like it came from an older person.
'Oh Sweet Lord!' someone scream. Charlie refused to turn around to see the carnage.

Pixle shuddered "just keep walking...." she muttered, stepping over another mine. "i just hope we can get out of here" she mumbled under her breath, still stepping lightly, ignoring the noise in the background

Stepping over a divet, Charlie nearly twisted his ankle. A blinding light seemed to part the clouds. 'What's next?!?' Charlie shouted, drawing Pixle to his side.

Pixle shuddered slightly as the scene got a bit noisier, the banging of the mines seemed to get distant as an old third-world town formed around them "Get down!" she hissed, dragging him behind a box, watching the sky as a young looking boy bolted across the overhangs, tackling the younger girl shrouded in black and white. Pixle shuddered as she watched.
"C'mon hand it over!" the boy snapped, pulling on the girl's hood "im not afraid to beat up a girl!" he snapped, the girl rolled over on top of him, elbowing him in the gut before getting to her feet.
"well obviously!" she muttered with a laugh, holding a flag in her hand.
"Give it here!" he snapped, slamming her into the wall before planting a kiss on her mouth "Game's over pixstix" he muttered, pulling off her hood and taking the flag "let's get you back to your dad before he spazzes." The boy grabbed her arm as they walked past the two and onto the busy road

Pixle shuddered slightly as she looked up at Charlie, biting her lip "they're just trying to make us upset, Charlie" she mumbled under her breath.

Charlie watched the scene unfold, 'Pixstix, I like it. Who was that?' Charlie's eyes were glued to the children, however he was unfazed by the kiss. 'Get outta my head, Brenden!' He shouted, with a growl.

Pixle smirked and laughed slightly "His name is Xavier, my 'dad' hired him when we were traveling to watch over me and be kind of like a partner, he ended up falling in love with me and I just played along, he was kind of a jerk from time to time." she laughed slightly again and shrugged

'What happened to him? I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had a boyfriend,' Charlie replied, eyes darkening. A deep male voice called out, the children sprinted behind the tree line snickering. The white flash occured once more, now teleporting the to one of Charlie's memories.
