@karamel

When I eat mangoes directly from the fruit. Like If I bought a mango cut it up and ate it my lips would begin to swell and stay swollen for a week or so, But if I cut it up and put it into other foods I'm eating or mixed it into a smoothie etc. I wouldn't break out at all... O.o I think it may be the citric acid is too concentrated in the fruit itself, but when it is diluted it isn't as bad.

Other than that I have no allergies.

I used to be allergic to goldenrod (very mildly) and spinach, but I don't think that I am anymore. When I was a kid, I LOVED spinach, but if I ate it, my face would flush a bright red…my Dad thought that it was hilarious. I still like spinach, but I don't eat it like I used to, so I don't know if I would get as flush anymore.

As far as goldenrod, I haven't been exposed to it in a LONG time, so I'm not sure.

@mastergemma: Actually, a lot of "hairless" breed of both dogs and cats can aggravate those with dander allergies. What interesting is that dogs, like poodles, have fur more similar to our hair, so it's doesn't affect people. I feel bad for cats & dogs who are allergic to themselves.

What can be worse than being allergic is just being plain sensitive. I'm sensitive to smell…especially harsh, artificial scents of some perfumes & colognes. I used to work the register at a pet store and three times I actually blacked out because some women were practically bathing in them.

I could work in the most foul-smelling cage or litter box and it wouldn't affect me, but stick me next to these ladies and my sinuses flare and I go right into vertigo.

I am allergic to animal fur, specifically cats.
If I touch pine trees with my bare skin I break out in a rash.
I am allergic to Tylenol.
I also have a sun allergy. If I am in the sun for too long, direct sunlight, I break out in an itchy/burning rash on my arms and chest.

@shadowhunter

And there is a difference between a sun rash and a sunburn.
For me, nothing but wearing long sleeves helps keep me from getting the rash but sunscreen helps keep me from getting a sunburn. And I do burn easily too...

Allergic to whole wheat and real wool, not synthetic wool. I break out with Hives. Terrible red itchy welts & if you take a shower use cold water cause warm water makes it spread. I found this out the hard way

Well I get sun burns easily. But my sun rash is a big reaction. Over the years it has gotten a little better so I am hoping it will go away eventually...

Morphine (had it once and they had to give me a counteractive medication because I pretty much almost stopped breathing), gluten (although that's more of an immune thing), shrimp, most trees apparently..... (I got one of those tests where they poke you with a bunch of needles in the back to see what your allergic to).

Mangoes are okay, at least your not allergic to something amazingly delicious like chocolate~ I had a friend who was allergic to chocolate when I was in Middle School~

I'm allergic to nickel. I'll break out into awful rashes if I'm exposed to it for too long. When I was a child and didn't realize that yet, my stomach would get the worst rashes from the buttons on my jeans. Then when I used to play the violin, my neck would do the same thing. Except it was hard to breathe when that happened. It's somewhat easier to deal with now, since putting clear nail polish on nickel helps with the jeans, along with having some sort of fabric between the skin and the nickel. Jewelry is a pain to buy though, no way of fixing that.

Then I'm almost sure I'm allergic to some types of tree nuts. Mainly the ones with the weird textures like pecans, walnuts, etc. It's so confusing though because I can eat stuff that's been in contact with them, or has some extract from them... but if I eat the physical nut itself, its hard to breath, I get overheated, and my throat starts to close up. I want to get tested to see if I really am allergic, but I'm deathly afraid of needles... so I don't know. xP
