Because you're not giving them enough of something. To get your trade accepted, you must offer at least 1,000,000 EC or six really rare creatures. If you really want them to accept it, offer both!

The term 'travel' is always used to be polite, especially since some users are insecure about not having enough time to feed.

It's where you write "Auction" on one of your creatures' profiles and your other creatures bid on it, whichever one wins gets the creature as its slave. It's completely creature run and even on a creature, so EggCave just called them creature auctions.

EDIT- Creatures that change looks with the seasons. Most turn green for spring and summer, turn orange or red for autumn, and turn white for winter.
