I'm SICK of hearing about it. SICK OF IT.

All day today, people would be like "Oh, are you going to see the Hunger Games tonight?" I always jump in and talk about how fed up I am with hearing about this crap, and how overrated it is. They just look at me like: *UNACCEPTABLE*.

Even when I was outside at the end of the day today, I was standing in front of one of the other buses and the freaking bus driver was asking some kid if he was going to see the Hunger Games tonight.

I literally grabbed my backpack and stormed away from that bus and refused to go back until the bus left, and *my* bus came. I. AM. SICK. OF. ITTTTTT.

Considering the books were already so overrated, then they make a movie? I swear, these people TRY to [yeep] me off. Considering I naturally hate everything that's popular. Example, all the girls in my grade are insane over Taylor Swift, and I hate her. They disapprove of my dislikes, and I'm fed up with this crap.

-_-

@dreamer
I liked the Hunger Games when I read it a few years ago. Now, it annoys the crap out of me and I don't think the book should sell at ALL. Everybody says it's amazing and crap, but really it's not. I want to punch all the Team Gale/ Team Peeta people because guess what, the stars could care less than you. Why not make it freaking Team Toothbrush/ Team Toothpaste?

@dreamer

What, are you a hipster? xD

@zafeyry

*shrug* Yeah, it's not exactly literature, but I liked it. Which is surprising, considering I wasn't big on Twilight, Harry Potter, Eragon, Warriors, etc. (mostly because they're not my thing, though). I'm more into dystopian ideas, which is why I'm in love with books like Fahrenheit 451 and a lot of Kurt Vonnegut's stuff.

@Zafeyry I hate the Hunger Games so much. I can't even get people to accept how I feel. I tell them what I think and why it annoys me and they just keep faulting me. Because these people are so obssessed that they can't even accept my opinions.

I've tried reading books that were popular before, and they usually turn out being pretty crappy. And since I'm already so annoyed by how many people fawn over the Hunger Games, so it's not even worth giving them a chance. Who wants to read about people dying, anyways?

This is exactly how I felt a year or two back about Percy Jackson and stuff like that. Greek Mythology absolutely BORES me, but everyone used to be obssessed and it drives me out of my mind. I kept my mouth shut about that stuff though. This is a different story.

The teams are ridiculous. Just a bunch of insane fans trying to cheer on their favorite character. They remind me of freaking animals. IT'S NOT REAL LIFE, PEOPLE, GET OVER IT ALREADY.

I love the hunger games.

And I saw the 12 am showing.

It's the fans that annoy me.

Same here. xD

For this reason, I'm pretty happy I won't be able to see it 'til next weekend, wait for all the spastic fans to see it. xD

I had to see the midnight showing. It's my second favorite book series, behind The Giver.

It would have been fun. I just couldn't see myself enjoying it in large crowds of really excited people. *socially awkward* xD

@dreamer

YES, YES

FINALLY, SOMEONE AGREES.

Personally, I like The Maze Runner and Interstellar pig better.

And no one in my school besides me and @belilalas_25 knows about Interstellar Pig and TMR.

Except a girl named Ariel in my class knows about TMR too. o3o

@dreamer you make very fair pionts, but I don't agree with a few of them. yes, the hunger games is getting out if hand, but the people are just excited. I know it gets annoying, but it will die down in a couple of days. Untill then, I wish you the best luck of not murdering whoever talks about it. 😸

Deleted • 23 March 2012 at 4:14 PM

@dreamer

Pardon me, but /chill/.
So are you going to hate Egg Cave when it gets more popular, too?
Seriously, if you don't like something, that's fine, but you don't need to insult fans or what it is they are fans of.
Yes, there are extremists.
There always will be.
They exist everywhere, in everything that has a following of any sort.

@rainbowbrite

I...I think I love you for that. xD

I love you, @dreamer, but I don't really think it's fair to treat every fan of anything popular as rabid animals. The obsessive people are enough to drive anyone away, I get that. But people like what they like and as a result talk about what they like. *shrugs* Don't seem a harm in that unless they get violent. Now is it fair for them to treat you poorly just because you don't like it? Definitely not, but it can go both ways.

Deleted • 23 March 2012 at 4:19 PM

@rainbowbrite She was just ranting. I mean- honestly this is getting a little overrated and annoying. o3o;

@dreamer oh my god YES =A=
I personally liked the books, but the last two just seemed a little too... //forced//.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the first book, but.. I don't know, she was pushing her luck by continuing. ;P
And people really need to stop treating this like twilight. There's no 'team gale' 'team peeta', people. :|
The thing that's annoying me the most is the fans.
And my friends.
They're being such jerks about it to me...
But I won't rant about it. ;P

I love The Hunger Games.
I thought it was a fantastic book series. And the film was perfect too in my opinion. I don't view the plotline to be just 'people dying', there's so much more to it than that.

Just because something is hugely popular and overly hyped, doesn't mean you should hate it. The one thing you shouldn't do is give a judgement to something if you know nothing about it. If you'd read the first book, I would completely understand your point and would accept your informed opinion on it. Whereas at the moment, you appear to have nothing to go on other than assumptions and popularity. ☹️

I guess I just have a dislike for seeing people complain about something with no valid reason other than "it's popular". D:

Don't be offended by anything I said here, I would never want to make anybody feel bad. And if I have done, I apologise completely. 😊 I just like to throw my opinion into the discussion and I hope you can at least understand the views of the people who DO actually like the Hunger Games. 😸

@rainbowbrite Some people may find what you wrote offensive. The point of a rant is to get angry about something they feel is important. I hate when people tell me to chill like that and, also, @dreamer didn't insult the books fans. They only said that it was driving them nuts that people keep making them feel bad for not liking a book seris. I'm sorry if I insulted you, but I like people to not be mean to each other and I have a feeling this might end badly. 😋 If you don't like what I said, tell me and I'll remove it.

You almost sound like me ranting about Twilight. o3o

Haven't read the Hunger Games though. I think I'll only watch the movie. The plot summary on Wikipedia didn't impress me enough to buy the books. xD

Not to be rude or anything but, I don't think you should make a big deal about what people like and how popular something is, I hate Justin Bieber but I don't make a big fuss about it, I can manage to listen to his music even though I hate them, as well as the poorly written Twilight series, I mean, I could hit my face against the keyboard and would've written the fifth Twilight book.

It's a book, when books are really good they become popular, once they make a movie fans just get excited, people have been waiting for this, that's why everyone is making a big deal out of it.

But I must admit, the books series is not as good as the Maximum Ride series, no one can change my mind about that.

Plus, the fans here where I live, we just show up to the midnight premiere and talk to our friends, we don't converse about the movie or book while waiting, we talk about other stuff, we may have cheered once the movie started only because we waiting for three and a half hours for the movie to start, other than that everyone watched the movie in silence there was no, "SQUEE!" when a hot guy appeared on the screen.

Plus, I don't hate the Hunger Games because so many people read it, I like it because I've read it and it's a good book.

I hate Twilight because I've read the book and it's complete crap and should be burned in flames or I would prefer shoving it down the authors throat in hopes of her choking to death for how badly written it is.

We clapped in the movie. And "Ooohhhhed" at parts. But no one screamed when Gale or Peeta came on. Only annoying thing that happened was when I went in, people were doing a team Gale/Peeta vote.

@Silverserpent - Haha❤️(;

@Cafe - The only part we made a noise was the sad part, I think you may know what part I'm referring to. It was more like an "Awhhh..." thing. When I saw Gale or Peeta, I kept my thoughts to myself.

@cafe @sky

I have to tell the story of when some friends and I went to see Eclipse together. We were all wearing "...and then Buffy staked Edward"-shirts and we had a really fun time watching the movie even though we don't like Twilight at all. Eclipse has some funny parts after all.
And all the screaming fans were so funny to laugh at too.

Every time Ed asked Bella to marry him there was some hysterical girl who screamed: "No! Marry ME!!" xD
Ahh... It was a lot of fun. 😋

T-shirt btw: http://www.ikoncollectables.com.au/images/buffy staked edward female_2.jpg 😉
