@SilverserpentI like me some BuffyAnd some Spike//MeGustaFace//See, I don't like twilight. I'm not putting down any people who do like them; like my mom and my friend. But when my mom asks if I want to go see it I have to say no, and she makes me tell her why not XD [IE - Cause I don't like how they've made vampires. If asked me about a being, before I knew about anything of twilight, that sparkles in the sun, and lives forever; I would seriously think of faeries. Cause I love faeries.]If my friend wants to talk about it, I let them. I just don't throw my two cents in cause I know it might hurt their feelings.
dreamer • 23 March 2012 at 4:48 PM
Can't even rant without having to deal with this stuff? What a world. My only point is I'm sick of hearing about it. I could care less about other people's opinions on this subject, the thing that annoys me is the obssessive fans and the fact that people can't accept my opinions. Talk about people telling me I'm unfair, they only treat me the same way.So people can go off on their own merry ways about what they like or what they're obssessed with, but they don't have to make me feel low for not agreeing.
sky • 23 March 2012 at 4:50 PM
@SilverserpentOh gosh. That brings back memories.I was with one of my best friends and we would always go see the Twilight movies, we hated them but they gave us a good laugh. We sat in the second row seats from the front. Every time Taylor Lautner were to take off his shirt the girls would squeal and me and my friends would imitate them and sometimes I'd just yell back, "WE GET IT. HE'S HOT. HE HAS ABS. JUST WATCH THE MOVIE!", after the movie ended, the lights went on, we turned around and everyone but me and my friend were wearing Twilight shirts, pins, bags, bracelets, necklaces, etc.I thought, "...I'm done.".__.
metaphor • 23 March 2012 at 4:54 PM
@dreamerI wasn't try to make you feel low for not agreeing, for the record. I actually respect that you're able to state that you don't like something. It's just that the bit about its popularity kind of put me off is all.
cafe • 23 March 2012 at 4:57 PM
@Dreamer....Then what's the point of posting a thread, if you're not open about other people's opinions. We're not saying you can't have yours. Just not making others feel bad about what you dislike. We did not, in any way, say you can't have your opinion. You don't like the hunger games? Good. That's good for you. But don't make me feel like I'm someone who's "slow" for liking it; that was exactly how I felt when I read that.
metaphor • 23 March 2012 at 5:01 PM
@cafe explained it better than I could. 😋
dreamer • 23 March 2012 at 5:01 PM
@Metaphor I know, it's ok, I didn't mean you. XDI was just outside and I come back and get tons of pings on people disagreeing and I was just like: V_VThe only reason I posted about it here was because people do the same exact thing to me at school. They mention the Hunger Games, I say that they annoy me, and they're like, "Oh, you suck!!!"I have nothing wrong with people who like the books if they aren't super-fans. Superfans, *in my opinion*, just ruin it for everyone else.I'm mostly afraid of becoming a superfan. The last thing I want is to go around screaming over some boys in the movie. X3Boys at my school whol read the series are pretty quiet, unless someone brings it up. The girls at my school are ALWAYS talking. I'm not really sure why... But at the same time, I think we all know EXACTLY why.I honestly don't think I'd have a problem, the thing that annoys me is how much energy people use talking about it. I mean I get it, people think it's a good series, but I don't. I'm no different. X3
silverserpent • 23 March 2012 at 5:03 PM
@cafeOhh. Spike. Yes please. xDI usually keep my mouth shut about what I think about Twilight. Because it tends to get ugly if I ever get going. The silly vampires are the main part why I *cough* HATE *cough* Twilight. Glittering vamps are just unforgivable. If it lives in the forest and sparkles - it's a friggin' fairy! xDHere's another reason why I don't like Twilight: The fans. Read: http://failblog.org/2012/03/22/homework-class-test-school-of-fail-bram-stoker-is-rolling-over-in-his-grave o__O;@skyHaha, we were always at least five people. So we could fight back if the fans would hate us too much. 8DBut on Eclipse it would have been hard. There were 300+ of them and only five of us. But we didn't care. We thought we'd die fighting at least. xD@dreamer Haters gonna hate, you know. Don't care too much. You have my support. Even though I don't have a thing to say about the Hunger Games, really. xD
lola622f • 23 March 2012 at 5:06 PM
I like the Hunger Games, but it is so overrated. I went to a book shop yeterday, and EVERYWHERE was the Hunger Games, books, T-shirts, and even CUPS!!!!! I personally think that the book was great, but I didn't exactly like it either. The writing isn't...very interesting. It doesn't... 'catch' me into reading more of it. Like, everything seems boring, but if you read the whole book, it's good. I'm tired of hearing:"OMG!!! I got a hunger games t-shirt!!!!!" or something like that. I find it annoying....
dreamer • 23 March 2012 at 5:13 PM
@Lola622f That. Is. EXACTLY MY POINT. XDI might be interested when this stuff dies down. But I always stay away from things when they're too hyped up.I was pretty annoyed when Twilight was all over the place. Never thought I'd be interested. But I'm reading the first book, I personally don't think it's too bad.But this is what I'm talking about. It's OPINIONS. X3I brought the Twilight book to achool one day to read, a teacher actually saw it and laughed. Then I told this same teacher how I felt about the Hunger Games and he says, "But they're so good! How dare you! I read the whole series in TWO DAYS. THat's how good. I'm actually going to read the first one again, just for fun."I mean... Come on... You really can't blame me for being so mad about ^^^^^^^^ that. 😱The trailer for the Hunger Games actually looks good, but I don't want to DARE go near it until the hype dies out.
jazzyleia • 23 March 2012 at 5:18 PM
@dreamerI totally agree with you! I feel like, why should i go watch something i don't want to read and that look uninteresting to me! STOP TALKING ABOUT IT!!!*just my opinion*
evilyowling • 23 March 2012 at 5:23 PM
I'm not that one to like hearing a lot. 😋But I have no idea what the 'Hunger Games' is. So yeah I just don't want to hear about it because I'm like "What is it?". xD I don't get over-obsessed with many things. So when I see things being talked about too much I kinda go... :/ *Same with HP*
coatimundi • 23 March 2012 at 5:24 PM
omg WAY to much hype over hunger games like my WHOLE school is talking about it its SO ANNOYING!
plushie • 23 March 2012 at 5:24 PM
@Dreamer SOMEONE NEEDED TO SAY IT! GOD [yeep] ALL OVER OUR FORUMS! AS WELL! ALL OVER MY SCHOOL! RP's about it are just everywhere! You can ask me why do I hate Hunger Games? I will say "Ask eggcave their the reason I hate it!"
coatimundi • 23 March 2012 at 5:26 PM
i agree with you plushie people are obsessing about itOMG I JUST REMEMBERED SOMETHING i was gonna read the hunger games cause my friend was reading it and the first page i saw said "he walked around my naked body" somethin like that IT SO WEIRD
acacia • 23 March 2012 at 5:29 PM
I understand so much lol i seeing it next week I LOVE THE HUNGER GAMES 😃 oh and i think katniss should be with peata they just seem to be the best couple i was upset because she didnt relize he REALLY did love her in the first book *hope i didn't spoil it srry if i did 😋"
bubble_tree • 23 March 2012 at 5:32 PM
@dreamerI understand you don't like the hype and the teams. Its all your opinion. But you do have to understand that fans who loved the series from the beginning want to see stupid Hollywood do the book justice. Take Eragon for example, the series is somewhat great an all, but that film from 2006 ruined the hype and fans' love for the books.I know you won't care about what I'm saying and I know you're going to counter me on this, but why not let the fans be? Hunger Games is not a generic fantasy that doesn't have a special meaning. If you were to ask an serious person about the moral lessons, you can hear that HG reflects many real life happenings.Just because the thing is popular doesn't mean its a bad thing. Now that doesn't apply to all the other bad stuff! Yes, the hype is annoying and so unneeded, but people have their reasons. Don't worry, the hype will die off. I promise you it will go down in the next year or two, when the series ends. Twilight started to die when the Breaking Dawn Part 1 came out. Look at that, not a lot of talk about it. This popular hype will only last so long. Just pay attention to all the other stuff people don't think is popular. To you its popular; to you, its important. Hunger Games is just the same way with its fans. Sorry if I offend you.But I went to stores and I got sick of all the publicity. Its had enough over the last 6 months. I just think of my excitement: "What did I do that for." Don't worry, the hype will die soon! 😃
ladybugheart • 24 March 2012 at 2:22 AM
I'll admit that the fact that everyone is talking about The Hunger Games movie can be annoying, but I personally don't think it makes sense to judge a book by its fandom. The thing that bothers me is that the only thing people talk about is the Hunger Games movie; the books seem nonexistent. Regardless, what annoys me the most is how several people are hating on The Hunger Games because it's popular; I wouldn't be surprised if half of them have never read the books.
rumor • 24 March 2012 at 2:27 AM
@LadybugheartLmaoI was reading the last book in the theater. Didn't want to not finish it and then the movie end up being all three books at once [I didn't know what the movie contained rofl.]I could hear people laughing cause I had like, 5 pages left, and they had to finish the whole last book. IE "Do you see how fast she's reading? Ive seen her flip the page in like, five seconds. Ha, I'm reading the last book tomorrow."
plushie • 24 March 2012 at 2:27 AM
@Coatimundi thank-you for agreeing! Eww. Whatta creepy book 0.o
lyricgeek • 24 March 2012 at 2:35 AM
I like the Hunger Games, but im not obsessed with it.It seems that you guys have all met a lot of hunger games fans 0.0 In my school, I have only once heard someone talk about the Hunger Games and it was only for about 10 seconds.
Deleted • 24 March 2012 at 2:38 AM
@qwaszx No offence, but its not very easy to write a world wide best seller, much less have it made into a movie. If you can write better than Suzanne Collins then you should be publishing your books already... xDI really liked the Hunger Games, but not for the love triangle. I have to give props to Suzanne Collins for the excellent world building. Most dystopians that have tried to mimic her tallents often fall short and just produce a novel with a great idea, a sappy love triangle and a flimsy plot. I didnt, however approve of the love triangle. I usually like SOME romance in the novels I read but I think this one killed the plot.
duchess • 24 March 2012 at 2:38 AM
@dreamer, I have to say, that I actually haven't met many fans of the Hunger Games. If you mention it, sometime people will say, "Oh yeah, I like the book." but besides that, there aren't really any super-fans ^^ I think a couple of people are going to watch the movie, but only because it's really the only new movie out 😊I can understand your annoyance though, I found it really irritating when people were constantly talking about Twilight, especially as I couldn't stomach the first book xD
rumor • 24 March 2012 at 2:42 AM
I will admitI am a super fanBut I'm not an annoying fanBy super fan, I could probably tell you anything you ask about the book, AND would buy their merchandise [I want a mockingjay pin]But, I'm not an annoying fan; people who just like it for the romance [Ie "WHO'S TEAM PEETA? RAISE YOUR HANDS! [What I heard when I walked into the theater]Or, I might be the book nerd. And those could be the super fans//Pushes up glasses//
taffy789 • 24 March 2012 at 2:56 AM
I liked the first book. The second one and third one to me were "meh". I read the book two years ago when I was in 6th grade, and thought nothing of it. Now, all my friends were talking about how much they were, "In love" with the book, and, ect., ect., ect. I thought it was an okay book series, but when everyone is loving on a book, it makes me not like it, and ruin the series for me. >.< I just hate how the last book ended/ what happened during it. 😋 Meh. ( PS: ...Apparently the Percy Jackson series was popular? 0.0 I never knew people were going crazy over it... Maybe when that SHAMEFUL-TO-THE-SERIES movie was about to be released? DX )
sky • 24 March 2012 at 3:00 AM
I wouldn't say to judge a book if you've never read it, in order to judge a book you need proof, referring to someone else's judgement won't help you, you'd have to find proof on your own by reading the book yourself. For example: I think the Harry Potter series sucks, even though I've never even tried reading them. True fact.Last year people had been picking up the Hunger Games books and reading them in class, they'd chat with each other and I had no clue of what the big fuss was, I purchased all three books but hadn't gotten to the point of reading them until recently, I didn't want to just say, "Oh, that book? Looks/sounds like a crappy book to me." if I haven't even read the book myself. That'd be wrong.I didn't read the series to follow the crowd. I'd also like to state that reading the back of the book isn't good enough, the description is crap. It doesn't have a very good explanation of the story. If I were to separate the fans into categories, two of the groups that'd [yeep] me off the most are the ones that haven't read the books and are only fans because they're friends are, and the ones that are only for the hot characters. This isn't really directed to anyone unless I've managed to describe anyone in this post, then I'd be directing this at you.
rumor • 24 March 2012 at 3:00 AM
I finished the second book in december and learn about the movie right after that. I learned about the hungry games series about a year ago, when my cousin had to read the book for school. I stole it rofl XDOr, she left it at my house. My book nerd self, I had to read it.When I learned they were making a movie in December, I got all excited; my friend told me how it was old news rofl XD I'M SUCH A SLOW TURTLE
icymuffin • 24 March 2012 at 3:00 AM
I haven't read the novel, and I don't really plan on it either {I don't really like novels anymore.} The idea seems a little bit interesting, though I can't help thinking that it sounds like "Battle Royale" with an added romance + "futuristic" ideas.
evolutary • 24 March 2012 at 3:01 AM
There wasn't much people talking about in my school, all they said was, "Are you going to watch the movie?" then the reply, and the conversation would end there.Hmm, I've read the books and I think they're good, except for all that love in it between Peeta and Katniss. I know that she's doing it for sponsors and all that, but I think it went out of hand and I couldn't help but think, "There's a bit too much romance in it, even if it isn't exactly real."I don't really like Taylor Swift much either, since her songs aren't my style. Actually, a majority of people don't listen to the type of music I listen to.There wasn't really much rage about Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games, Percy Jackson and all the popular topics in my school. Maybe it's just my school. x]

I love the Hunger Games. 😊
