Ari narrowed his eyes at Kay. Something was clearly wrong with her. Kay hadn't burned in the sun. What was wrong?

Then it dawned on him. That attack the other day. When Ari had attacked Kay, he didn't unintentionally infect her with lycanthropy, did he? Why hadn't this happened to any other vampires who've been attacked? No, other vampires would be dead if a werewolf attacked them.

Cautiously, Ari turned back into a human and entered the hut, against his better judgement. He needed to know if Kay was a werewolf.

Kay's head turned to see Ari in the doorway.
"Mielle! Get back!" she said and then stood up and in front of her little sister.
Mielle looked confused.
"But K, this is the nice man I met in the woods before. He's not going to hurt us." she said to Kay.
"You met him?" she asked in surprise. "What did he do to you?"she asked eyeing Ari suspiciously. "What did you do? Wasn't it anough that you attacked me?" she asked him.

Ari's heart pumped quickly in his chest. Maybe this wasn't such a great idea.

"In case you didn't realise, I spared your life." Ari said calmly.

"And I'm a hundred percent not sure of what had happened to you. But I can safely assume that we both know what you're not... what you think you are, anymore."

Ari's eyes lingered on Mielle's for a moment. He didn't want to say that Kay was a werewolf out loud, in front of Mielle.

Kay growled.
"I'm not turning into anything! Do you understand me? I'm a vampire and that's that!" she roared at him.

"Hi mister!" Mielle smiled and waved at him.
"Mielle go upstairs" Kay said softly and kissed her head, ushering her up the stairs.

Kay went silent. She stared at the werewolf for a while then plopped down on a chair.
"Vmpires can't turn into werewolves, right?" she asked the boy with a worried expression.

"I'm not sure." Ari said, his eyebrows knitted together in thought.

"I'm not an expert on how werewolves infect others. But I do know that you need: a bloodstream, and werewolf venom. As soon werewolf venom gets into someone's bloodstream, then it infects the whole body."

Ari gave a half-smile to Kay, hoping that his explanation made sense.

"I wasn't aware that vampires had their own blood system."

Ari sighed.

"No. Once you're a werewolf, there's no changing back."

He adverted his gaze down onto the floor, unable to meet Kay's eyes.

Kay sighed.
"So... I'm going to turn anyways." she stated and sighed. "I can't tell Mielle. She'll be crushed."

Kay looked at the werewolf again.
"Why are you helping me?" she asked. "Why didn't you kill me? Who are you anyway?"

"I want to help you because... you have a family. You have others who need you and care for you. I can't ake that away even if we are enemies. And I didn't kill you because..." Ari stuggled to explain himself but he couldn't fin the right words. "... I don't know. I just had a feeling."

Changing the subject, Ari introduced himself. "I'm Ari, by the way. Who are you?"

She sighed. "How long until the transformation is complete?" she asked.

"Until the next full moon. The first time you turn into a wolf is the hardest. I won't lie to you - it is extremelly painful a first but gets better afterwards."

Ari moved over to the couch.

"Yeah, I've heard tales about that. Is it true that you have to change your name or is that just a myth? And what about my fangs?" she asked putting a hand on her cheek.

"No. You don't change your name. That's just a myth," Ari chuckled lightly.

"But sometimes there are 'werewolf packs' which are pretty self-explanatory. I'm not part of one though."

"So you can be a loner. Well, I don't want getting involved with any werewolves whatsoever. I'll be a loner too."she stated stubbornly and huffed. "I forgot to ask you. What do you werewolves eat, what do you like doing because I've noticed some craving for the outdoors and I just wondered where do you like going?"she asked him, curiosity gleaming in her eyes.

"Uh, werewolves eat meat, basically, like steak and beef. Like the opposite of vegetarians. And you sort of get instincts which tell you to act less like a human and more like a wolf. As in, running through a forest, hunting prey, you know, stuff like that." Ari said, feeling awkward explaining this.

Joseph quickly put on the cape and looked around noticing that Kay and one of the werewolves were gone. Joseph hissed at the other werewolf and then looked at Sylvia, "Continue to fight or just get to my house?"

@wolfmilk @22fireboy it's godmodding to say you stabbed someone, when they didn't agree, but it's not when they dodge stuff 😋 so instead of saying what you DID, say you attempted to kill him 😸 He CAN dodge all attacks, but I'd prefer no one to be unable to get hurt 😊

Kay sighed. She wondered hw she was going to tell Mielle. She knew that her sister was smart and was going to find out sooner or later. She looked up at Ari.
"How does it feel when you're in wolf form... sorry for the many questions but I want to know as much as I can." she stated boldly. She had accepted her fate.

"Um... it's hard to explain," Ari said. He was slightly surprised at Kay's acceptance of her condition. It had taken Ari weeks to accept that he was werewolf when he had first been bitten at the age of 8.

Kay looked up at him and smiled.
"You don't need to answer that. I'm sorry for asking." she said but then frowned slightly. "You know... you never told me your name. I'm Kay and you?" she extended a hand.

"I met your sister, Mielle, the other day in the forest. She seems pretty bright for her age. It won't take long for her to realise that there is something different about you."

He plopped himself down onto the couch beside Kay, sighing.

"Yeah, I suppose. She's really smart. She knows all the herbs in the whole forest." she said and smiled but the mile quickly melted into a frown "She'll be afraid of me once I change won't she?"

"No she won't. She's your sister. Mielle would understand. I'm sure that Mielle will understand that not all werewolves are bad and at the same time, not all vampires are good either." He hastily reassured Kay.

"And besides, she trusts me. I'm a werewolf."

"How can you be sure?" she asked him. "And besides what if I attack her or lose control... Ari how hard is it to control your wolf form?" she asked again.
