I just came up with a roleplaying idea...
and the more I think about it, the more demented I feel for even coming up with something like that. x-x
I really want to try it out anyways, but if there's one thing we need on EC it's literate roleplayers.
This is what I see when I search through topics;

he growlrred.

And half of the things people type.. I CAN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND.
I don't care if you're 11, 10, 9, WHATEVER. You've been to school.
You've been taught how to write.
If you can do it in real life, you can sure as heck do it on a website.

Please don't take offence to this, I'm just really upset because I want to roleplay and I can't because I'll probably end up typing something extremely long and detailed and get this;

@Rin I agree, when people can't type in proper punctuation and grammar, it annoys me. Even when I'm at school, most of the teachers and students can't type in correct punctuation.

Maybe when you create the roleplay, as one of the rules, write 'Literate and serious roleplayers only.' It usually works. Good luck with your roleplay!

I'm the same way. I tried to role play here, openly. And it actually hurt my head to read what some people had wrote. And some people try to make the role play only about them. Like the main character.

My friend and I role play on different sites, keeping it between us.

They should have something like on meet, one subforum was.. I can't remember exactly the name. But it was basically for people who weren't literate. And for the limited one, people had a minimum of 50 words.

I agree with cafe's idea.
It's SUPER annoying when you get something like, "he watched her from his tree" it's just, seriously! Put some effort into it!
And long post limits is helpful to keep it slower.
I'd probably join.

Also, the annoying thing about people only posting one sentence is that you can't continue on from their post. It's one of the reasons which causes roleplays to die off.

I joined a few roleplays on here but I only posted once or twice, then left because I couldn't come up with anything else to type. e___e;
I understand if people have writers block, but if it's one sentence in every post it has to be something else. xD

I use grammar all the time, or else my RL friend will rip my hair out. That is her way of making me use my gammar x)
But it's worked, and now I must use grammar because I'm accustomed to it 😋
I like to RP, so I would defiantly join!

I know what you mean. I always use proper grammar and spelling. When I'm talking to most people online they're like "wht u wnt 2 do 2day" or something of the sort and I'm like... whaaaa?

One time I even got in a fight with someone because they told me "I'm weird and sound like an old person" because I usually use long words or terms you don't really hear in casual speaking or whatever. o-o

And I told them I like sounding intellegent. So I asked them why they use "internet" talk and they just said that they talk like that because "everybody does it."

And it's true...

Blarg. I have to say, excessive chatspeak and/or people being so incompetent that can't spell correctly annoys me as well. Whenever I see a lot of misspelled words (chatspeak) it makes me want to strangle the user. XD

just cause most people they encounter speak internet slang doesn't mean that EVERYONE does it.

@Rin I know! I just have a few close buds who I know can roleplay (at least to my standards X3) and hang out with them 😋
I like to think of myself as a serious/literate roleplayer...
