Just putting this out there, eggcave seems to be the hub for ranting xD

I find so many rants on the forums its not even funny.. :x

Also, my issue with Egg Cave is there isn't really enough new stuff coming in. Well, there is, but it's like ... Eating only cake for your whole life, but switching frosting every month. It's delicious, but you do get sick of it.

I think there need to be more events. Contests. Puzzles. It wouldn't be hard for Ian to say he was looking for contest ideas and stuff, right?

I think a possible solution would be to start deleting accounts which haven't been active for over 2 years and for each pet with a rarity under 10 give away an egg of the species in a lottery using the same system as the Eggcavern raffles. If a creature with a rarity under 10 dies the same thing would be done. This way the truly rare creatures can't go extinct or be forever immobilized on inactive accounts. Also there would be no new creatures created and rarity would still increase.

I doubt anything like that would happen though.

I don't get why people are making such an issue out of this, I personally wouldn't mind a recoloured rerelease or a regular one for that matter. If Ian put the Onny/Macbot/Doovoo/Tine in the Cash shop for a day for ~20 $ I'd be fine with it, they're going for much more than that, which I don't think is necessary. The backlash over the christmas rerelease was largely because the pets were in the cave. Recoloured creatures could be in the cave for all I care.

And 'no newbies'? Oh please... Just how are oldies better? Some newbies who don't have much offer up their entire cove including all the pets they cherish for a pet they want, while some oldies are only willing to give up one or two very rare pets and then insist they're trying harder/better. Yeah, I'm like that too, stingy, but I don't claim to be better than the newbies. I'm not for giving out lots of free rares to newbies, but excluding them from everything isn't fair either.

Also, let it be said that I am guilty of creature hoarding, but only because I spent real money on/have an emotional connection to all 9 pets I don't have plans to do stuff with.

Well it's all good debating and ranting but it's not really fixing the problem. Eggcave is what it is so (like what James bond said) it's hard to fix.

I agree, I do think it's a pity though. With some modest rereleases/remobilization eggcave would be a much nicer place to be. I wish Ian hadn't rereleased the christmas creatures for free, the backlash was so large he said he'd never rerelease again... Which I think is a pity, rereleases aren't a bad thing if they're done right. Not that I don't understand the backlash, giving away pets for free for which people have worked their ass off just sucks.

I don't think creature hoarding should be judged at all, anyone should be allowed to try getting the pets they want and keeping them if they manage to get em. Plus there'd be no end to it, I've been accused of hoarding and being selfish simply for owning a pair (as in 2 (two), a male and female) of Tines.

@balletninja Agreed. I think they could be released with an item on it to make it different for example the Peeturk was just a Yeep dressed as a turkey... But at the same time it's still not the same... It's too hard to get pets I thought eggcave was about your own cove not getting upset over a re-released creature so that someone else gets a chance because those people who DO have them won't let anybody else have a chance. Sure people have worked hard to get a creature, it'd still be their 'original'. I had a Foo from last xmas (traded him away now) and before that on my previous (dead) accounts I've had an older Foo. Didn't upset me, they're just virtual creatures the only ones that should have 'worth' in my opinion are the ones from CC becaue they use REAL money. Ok I'm done xD.... I know not many will agree with my 'theory' haha :L

@balletninja my other idea was that Ian trades a bunch of your hard earned creatures for what you want considering they are of equal worth and then he could use your creatures to make other peoples eggcave-dreams happen. So if the trade is of the highest worth, he could bring one in. But also proof that you simply can't get one through trading because no one is letting go. So then its only for those who work hard who get xD I dunno xD
