'Oh, Vex like pack,' he replied. 'Mean dog try kill me, protect is good'. Vex sniffed Ria, sensing she was friendly. Last time he jumped to conclusions he ended up losing part of his ear.

Demine laughed a bit. "All right." He slipped into the water, his head first and noticed many more fish. He swam stealthy around and caught a few and swam back up.

Ria felt bad. "I'm sorry a dog tried to kill you. But do not worry. We are very nice here. There are beasts here, but we take care of them easily. As long as we work together." She smiled.

Dang! I missed so much!

Aizel followed behind them quietly, careful not to make any noise. She jumped on the glowing trees and climbed up the branches. She was curious as to how they were going to survive with al those vicious predators and poisnonous plants in the forest. They weren't going to last long. She was sure of that. For now she satyed in the shadows but was watching intently and was ready to interfere if danger approached.

Vex wondered though the trees and ferns, sniffing each one. He had never seen such luch plants before. His home was dry and arid-not many plants could survive there. Spotting a crack in the rock, Vex padded toward his cave. Slipping into the dark rocky structre, Vex curled up to sleep.

Aizel smirked. Why did the newbies always make the same mistakes. She knew that the sleeping wolf would be attacked by the Recawrs in minutes and she padded over to the nearby glowig willow and waited for the action.

Recawrs resembled fireflies in every way except one. They were poisonous and their stings brought rashes on anyone who dared enter their caves. They would attack the intruder viciously.

Aizel lay down and put her head on her crossed paws, waiting impassionatelly for the screaming to come.

Closing his eyes, Vex drifted to sleep. Not long after he began to dream of his homeland, something stung his head. Looking up, he saw a tiny glowing bug. A long throaty growl, erupted from the jackal. Suddenly, a swarm dive-bombed him. Springing from the cave, Vex began to howl in pain.

Aizel sighed. She stood up and quickly padded over to the entrance of the cave. As she came in she was welomed by the sight of the jackal being stung by Recawrs. She had taken a slimy leave from outside and now started patting it on Vex's fur. The liquid from the leaf trickled on the jackal and the bugs immediatelly retreated.
"You okay?" she asked the soaked wolf as she hrew the leaf away.

Aizel looked at him.
"Because this is their cave and they see you as an intruder. You are new to this place right?" asked the neon wolf. She smiled at the jackal.
"It's not wise to sleep anywhere on the ground because the bugs here are mostly poisonous. They'll bite you and hurt you again." she said, in hopes that the Egyptian jackal would understand her.

Vex looked at the wolf's interesting coat, 'Why glow?' he asked, having never seen a glowing wolf before. Vex turned and growled at the cave. 'Were is safe?'

"The forest glows and the animals in it glow too. I was born here. I live here. There are many glowing animals." he told him and then motioned to the exit of the cave. "Let's go! You have to clean yourself up first!" she said and headed towards a clean pond she knew that was safe.

Vex stepped into the clear, cold water. Water was new to him, as the desert's dry climate evaporated most of the rainwater. Sinking beneath the surface, Vex began to swim. The cold liquid seemed to ease the pain of the stings.

Aizel herself had gotten sticky from the leaf so she decded to take a bath too. Steppng on the edge of the pond she plunged head first into the water. As her poked above the surface she looked happily at Vex and then motioned for him to look down at the bottom of the pond. The splash from Aizel's jump had awakened the fish in the pond and they were now darting in fright around the water, their uneven glow creating a feerie of colour beneath the surface. One large neon fish swam near Vex, followed by a little group of bright orange goldfish. A glowing frog jumped in the water near Vex and splashed the water even more. The pond began intently glowing.

Vex smiled as the school of neon fish swam by. 'Pretty!' he exclaimed. Ducking underwater, he caught a small fish in his teeth. Its slipery body slid from his jaw and bounced into the water.

Vex watched as the pudgy orange fish lazily swam by. Quickly, he snapped his jaw around it. It wriggled a bit, but he broke its neck before it could get away. He ate the fish in one bite and smiled at Aizel. 'Taste good, but sticky'

Aizel chuckled.
"All the fish is sticky." she stated and then came out of the pool, her fur dripping with water.
"Come on! It'll get dark really soon and you don't want to be outside when it does." she said and shook the water off "The only safe place is on the trees. All the predators come out at night so it's quite dangerous for a young jackal to be alone on the ground." she added. "Follow me." she walked towards the forest again.

Vex followed Aizel, with his head down. He was afraid of what was lurking in the forest. He had already almost been killed twice that week, not to mention loosing half of his ear.

Aizel approached one high thick tree in the middle of the forest and swiftly jumped on it.
"Do you need help climbing up?" she asked the jackal. "I can help you" she stated.
