Sylvia started playing with a little ball of black flame halfway through class time. She tossed it over to Joseph.

"Thank you, Ms. Tylk," he responded calmly, checking her name off the attendance list. As his eyes moved back up to the room, a stern frown appeared on his face. As rapidly as a striking predator, he removed the knife from his pocket, flicked it open, and threw it across the room. It streaked through the air, piercing the ball of fire before it reached Kyle's hands. Upon contact with the weapon, the ball of fire disintegrated with a sizzle. The knife embedded itself in the drywall with a sound "shck." It was buried nearly to the grip.

"It's time to lay down some rules," Mr. Draven announced, walking down the middle row toward the back wall. The tap of his leather dress shoes on the laminate floor was the loudest sound in the room. "You will arrive to class on time. You will be seated in your chair, at your desk, with your class materials out, by the time the bell rings. There will be no talking unless instructed by me." He wrenched the knife from the back wall and replaced it in his pocket. "Classes may only be skipped due to medical emergencies or prenegotiated terms. Skipping detention will result in two detentions, served over the weekend. Any behavior that is not conducive to learning does not belong in this classroom. Kyle, Aphrodite, Joseph, Sylvia," he read off the attendance list. "You all have detention after class. Do I make myself clear?"

The class stayed silent as the tracher spoke. "What makes you so different from the Other Teachers?", Kyle said while narrowing his eyes into slits.

Sylvia frowned. "You cant do that To me." What sylvia said was semi-correct. She had Other things To do, like keeping the vampires in line. Every once in a while, she would do something playful/bad To remind the vampires that she wasnt entirely strict but she has never gotten detention before. She frowned. "Who will watch them then?", she said gesturing around the classroom.

"F~CK.", Zaylia said as she spotted two male Day Class students lieing on the ground of the forest. They seemed To have been in a fight, and started using blades. Both were bleeding and passed out.

"I'm determined to teach you all something," he responded cleanly to Kyle. Mr. Draven stared unflinching back at the boy. His stony grey eyes exuded power and precision. "That is how I am different. Advanced science, math, history, art; you'll learn all these things. If you can handle those, we'll move forward. Government. Architecture. Philosophy. If we have time, I could teach you German." He proceeded back to the chalkboard with long, clean strides. "I cannot teach a greater purpose, but I can certainly give you the possibility of one."

He erased his name from the board in one clean stroke. "I am your teacher, and I will not be argued with," he responded to Sylvia. He began to write lines upon the board; they were the rules he had listed a moment ago. "Within the walls of this building, I will watch them," he responded. There was no break in his writing as he spoke; both thought processes seemed to flow smoothly. "If you believe you have a job to do, then you ought to stay out of trouble."

Sylvia was about to say something back To the Teacher when the clean smell of fresh blood entered the classroom. A few of the more experienced vampires fidgeted as they recognized the smell, while the newer younger vampires sat still. Sylvia twitched. Normally, she would have left the classroom immediately To check up on where it was coming from but she didnt know what the Teacher would do. She coughed, her eyes starting To take on a rather red color.

Noticing the lack of a reply, Mr. Draven turned his head. The faces of the students spoke volumes about the situation. His eyes immediately strayed to the open window, and he scowled. Crossing the room at a startling speed, he slammed the window shut, set the lock, and then crossed to the other wall to turn on the fans. Simultaneously, he removed his cell phone from his pocket. "No texting in class," he added, speed dialing the prefect he'd seen earlier. With one hand, he held the ringing phone to his ear. With the other, he flipped the switches to the ceiling fans. They began to spin, circulating fresh air. He opened the door a crack.

I always miss the interesting stuff!

Looking at the teacher impassionatelly, Aizel leaned her chin on her palms, remaining unfazed by what had happened.

Truth be told she had expected much worse from the students, and from the teacher too for that matter. In her last school the students had even started a few fires in the classrooms during classes and many worse things. This seemed quite like a normal Monday to her.

The racket outside and the fuming teacher didn't bother her as she took out a pen from her bag and boredly started scribbling on her desk. She tried sketching the grumpy teacher, starting from his medium lenght brown hair, going through the lines of his face and then starting with the light eyes. She drew the frown that seemed to never leave his face and then proceeded in scribbling the lines of his shirt and suit.

She was completely engrossed in her task.

"Yes!", Zaylia called up to Alex. The boy was heavy and he needed to get to the nurse quick. "Does Sirius know any of them?", she asked, referring to the 2 boys. A vibrstion came from Zaylia's back pocket and she set the boy down. Her phone was ringing. She picked up and said,"Hello?"

Sylvia picked at her desk, a small ball of flame the size of tiny sphere on her index finger. She put it out, scowling at the teacher. She turned towards Joseph and sighed. "That teacher. Needs to. Get A Life.", she whispered.

Kyle rolled his eyes but got off the desk and sat in his seat. The leftover smell of blood left him feeling hungry and he said, directing the comment towards the teacher. "I'm going to get something to drink."

Joseph nodded, "Yeah or we could make him lose one if we felt like it."

Sirius sat above them, "Yeah the kid you are holding is named Cole. He is a trouble maker and often gets into fight not sure about the other one." He hopped from the tree and began to help Zaylia with Cole.

Alex threw the other kid over her shoulder and followed.

"It's Klavier," he said into the phone, staring out the window. She was entirely visible; he could see her jaw move when she spoke. "What's the situation?" In class, he had asked to be called Mr. Draven. However, because of his close correspondence with the prefects, he found it appropriate to be on a first-name basis.

As Kyle rose from his seat, Mr. Draven spun around, his expression back to neutral. "No, you're not," he replied, pressing the phone against his neck so that Zaylia would not hear. "Break is in forty-five minutes. Until then, you will remain in your seat."

Sirius and Alex continued to take them to the dorm.

Joseph smiled and walked over to the clock and turned it to 45 minutes later, "There now I am going to get a drink," he said and walked out of the classroom.

"I'll call the nurse," Mr. Draven replied to Sylvia, nodding a terse thank you in Kyle's direction. His gaze lingered on Joseph and Sylvia for a moment as the boy began to get up, but his eyes turned back to the window once it was clear that the boy wasn't going anywhere. "What's their condition?"
