NO people go into haitus for personal matters which would stink for them so NO @zxcvbnm
Orderedchaos • 29 April 2012 at 6:48 PM
@zxcvbnm There are people who leave for one reason or another for long periods of time and then come back. It would suck to have to leave because of school or work and then come back to find your entire account deleted.
axel • 29 April 2012 at 6:51 PM
I don't think so. School work has been building up on me and I've been going on a some-what hiatus, I'd hate for me to come back and find my account deleted, especially with all the effort I put into it.(Meant to post as @Sky)
hedwig68 • 29 April 2012 at 6:51 PM
I agree with the other two. It would suck if you had a bunch of amazing creatures but had to go on a hiatus for personal stuff then come back and they are all gone.
cqpkytty • 29 April 2012 at 6:53 PM
@zxcvbnmIf anything, then 5 years.
marie_lily • 29 April 2012 at 6:56 PM
How about if you need to go on a hiatus or something, you send in a ticket, and your account won't be deleted? Otherwise, it will? I don't know....
22fireboy • 29 April 2012 at 6:56 PM
@cqpkytty AGREED
zxcvbnm • 29 April 2012 at 6:57 PM
@22fireboy i just kind of doubt that people would go onto a eight month break. if they need to go onto a hiatus over eight months, they probably shoud just abandon thier account becaue their eggs would die by then anyway. even though i don't exactly agree with it, i respect your opinion. 😊
22fireboy • 29 April 2012 at 6:58 PM
THATS CALLED TIMS FOOD SHOP SORRY FOR CAPS I LIKE CAPS @zxcvbnm
zxcvbnm • 29 April 2012 at 7:00 PM
@22fireboy good point, except that Tim's food Shoppe only goes up to 60 days
hedwig68 • 29 April 2012 at 7:02 PM
@zxcvbnm Well some people have personal problems that could take a long time to resolve and a person could have great eggs. They should still be allowed to keep the eggs because they might love Eggcave and their eggs as much as anyone and it isn't their fault they had to leave.
gggaaahhh1 • 29 April 2012 at 7:03 PM
Maybe when they have no alive creatures anymore.
eclipse • 29 April 2012 at 7:03 PM
@zxcvbnmA lot of older users quit and keep their creatures in their coves for sentimental reasons. They make sure to immortalize everyone before they go. It would be crushing to come back to visit old friends only to find that your account has been deleted, along with your treasured creatures that you worked hard to immortalize. Examples: Avelaingia, ninja (I think).
cqpkytty • 29 April 2012 at 7:04 PM
@zxcvbnmAlso, there's something called IMMORTALIZING and something else called ASKING YOUR FRIENDS TO FEED WHILE YOU'RE GONE.
metaphor • 29 April 2012 at 7:10 PM
Needs to longer than 8 months. A year AT LEAST. Otherwise, I'm for it. Just make sure the people are notified by email at least a week or two before hand, as they do on sites like subeta and even neo. Of course, it may be a little more difficult to manage here because, as some people have mentioned, people immortalize their pets so that they can leave for long periods of time. Names that are rotting on creatures under 2000lvl usually die off anyway.
jaidyn • 29 April 2012 at 7:12 PM
@zxcvbnmAbsolutely not! Everyone else is right. A lot of people have no choice but to go on hiatus for more than 8 months. I'd hate to come back and not be able to log in. I honestly don't know what you're reasoning for this is.
hope • 29 April 2012 at 7:22 PM
@zxcvbnmI don't think its a good idea, I can see what you mean but I think it would upset a bunch of people. 😊
zxcvbnm • 29 April 2012 at 7:22 PM
@eclipse @jaidyn @hedwig68 @22fireboy and every1 elseYou all have good arguments, but what if everyone did that? then eggcave would have way too many users. it is not fair to have your account especially saved just because you have one alive creature that is immortal and you haven't been on in a year. there are too many people that just forget about eggcave, many of them don't have personal problems at all.
hope • 29 April 2012 at 7:26 PM
Guys, I know you don't agree with @zxcvbnm but some people are starting to get a bit rude, everyone has already made it clear they don't like the idea please don't let something this small turn into a huge argument. :'/
zxcvbnm • 29 April 2012 at 7:28 PM

hedwig68 • 29 April 2012 at 7:33 PM
But what of the ones that do remember and do have personal problems? You have to think about everyone here.
zxcvbnm • 29 April 2012 at 7:35 PM
yeah! @hope is right! i tried to be polite by saying "i respect your opinion" but everyone is still just being kind of rude. if i had known everyone would be like this, i wouldn't have posted this.
hope • 29 April 2012 at 7:42 PM
@zxcvbnmif you don't like it simply edit the first post and say "BOARD CLOSED" So no one will post, then ignore the pings. Hopefully @Ian , @annapashmina , or @Meteoroid will lock this. No one has been really rude but enough to where it could escalate. Especially when it's clear people are getting upset.
wispa • 29 April 2012 at 7:43 PM
But there isn't really a way to tell is someone has not logged in for a while is there? I mean Ian could tell, but the rest of us can't can we?If someone has all there creatures immortal and lots of EC already and just doesn't post anywhere, doesn't do feed backs any longer, etc - but they still log in and say buy a travel every now and then. We other users wouldn't really know if they were logging in or not would we?
zxcvbnm • 29 April 2012 at 7:45 PM
@hedwig68even if you do have personal problems, you would probably be able to get on before 8 months. but i know you will find a way to contradict that statement too
hedwig68 • 29 April 2012 at 7:48 PM
Actually it is totally possible. I had a friend who played on a different website that I knew in RL they were having personal problems with school and their family. They didn't get back on that website for a year because it took that much time to sort everything out. How do you think they would have felt if their account on their favorite website had been deleted?
