"Shhh it's going to be fine" she cooed, kissing Mason lightly on the head and holding him close "Your sister is an amazing person, she can take care of herself AND complete strangers, she practacally killed off an army of Repo soldiers when she came to my aid...She'll be fine, I promise" she muttered, pecking the top of his head again, her arm let out a series of clicks, ut otherwise, the room remained mostly silent.

Mason nodded his head slowly a few times, not really reassured but at least calmed down. He knew that if the REPO men doscovered them, they were done for. He's neard Aizel and Y'miel talking and he knew from their conversation that noone knew that they hid in Y'miel's home, so if found out, he, his sister, Y'miel and both the teens would be done for.
"Okay..." he whispered in a trmbling voice.

@swimforlife

Aizel waited as another three knocks echoed in the house, her gun remained in the air, redied and clutched by a trmbling hand. She did her best to control the adrenalne that washed over her but to no avail. She found her vision coulding and clearing, her heart still continued to pump furiously. A little later she discovered that it wasn't her heart thumping so loudly, it was just numerous pairs of military boots walking away.

She drew the curtains away a little to peek out and saw the REPO car drve off. Letting out a relieved sig, Aizel allowed herself to slide down the wall and sit on the floor, rubbing her temples and calming her nerves. The retreating whale of the sirens was carried away by the pouding in her head. She groaned in exasperation and glanced sideways at Charlie who still had his face burried in the pillow.
"You can come out now. They're gone." she grumbled.

Pixle held mason close as the sirens faded "There, see? nothing to worry abo-" she tucked him under her at the sound of glass exploding and raining down on the floor, slowly the room began to fill with smoke, even up under the bed "Crud" she hissed, pulling off her scarf and covering mason's mouth "don't breathe too deep!" she hissed in his ear, pulling him out from under the bed and helping him out of the room, there were a few shouts from outside, and the soft beeping from her heart and lungs were getting slowly louder.

Aziel's semi-confident grin signaled that they were in the clear for the time being. Slowly adjusting himself on the couch, he signaled for the girl to come closer. Her dauntless eyes and sanguine smile sparked the memory. Aizel was the one, she had to be. Two secrets burned in Charlie's heart, both could tip her scale of tolerence for him. A pang of guild crept across his face as he realled the night at the Steadman family burail plot two years ago.

'Aizel,' he began, gesturing at the scar on her bicep. The flesh was pinker than her well toned skin, the time of the scar correlated to the incident. 'T-t-t-t-hat scar,' he voice spoke, with a tremble. Its circumfrence was the same caliber of bullet he had used. 'Where did you get it?' he finally managed to spit out. A feeling unrecogizibale washed over his icy blue eyes. A hybrid of guild and self-hatred plagured his body.

Aizel frowned, looking at her scar and then raised her eybrow at the trmbling boy. His eyes seemed vacant but afraid none the less. She'd gotten many different reactions of people because of that sar bu never had she seen someone so afraid of a simple wound. She chukled. The boy probably couldn't even handle blood at all.
"Don't be a priss, i's just a scar, I even got bigger ones tha-"

A sudden shatter of glas and numerous screams made her head snap to the side and she turned to look at the stairway where Mason and Pixle appeared out of the veil of smoke that rolled down the stairs. She hurried over to the two, urging them to go into the room where Charlie was. A mere second later she was positioned onto the stairsway, leaning over the railing with her body half shielded by the towering height of the stairs. She was invisible to the soldiers upstairs and pointed her loaded gun to the first REPO face she saw. A loud bang echoed in the room and the limp body of the man toppled over the railway, falling motionless on the first floor, right next to Aizel.

Jumping a bit, Pixle kept her head low, the bang that echoed through the air had sent a chill up her spine, she didn't know who's side it came from and wasn't sure she wanted to find out. "well now what" she muttered, looking around the room and letting her eyes fall shut for a few moments.

A curtain of smoke billowed from upstairs, concealing the Repo men. Pixle and a young boy arrived in the room, coughing and sputtering. Trailing close behind were the unmistakeable pounding of Repo-issued boots. A weapon cocked sending the bullet shell skipping across the foor. The silent ping of metal hitting the floor was followed by the thump of a body. Charlie fumbled across the floor, patting the ground in his smoke driven myopia. A pool of something thick and warm licked at his fingers. Blood. Retching in his mouth, Charlie ignored the knots in his stomach and slipped his hand into the hinge of the fallen Repo man's armour. His fingers loacted the knife and the detanator for an unknow expolsive. This was not his first encounter with the Repo. Contrary to Aizel's belief, he was actually quite familair with the soldiers...and blood. Wielding the knife close to his chest, Charlie rleased his grip and sent it soaring. It reached the pinnacle of its arc, and embeded itself in the jugular of one of the soldiers. He muffled cry, was scilenced by another shot from Aizlel's weapon.

Aizel paid no attention to the screaming man not far from her and simply continued with her shooting. She was afraid that she'd run out of bullets. She couldn't recall the last time she'd loaded her weapon and that might've probably been last week. With a grunt she proceeded in shooting the soldiers and moved away a little bit, not enoguht to expose her position but enought so she could target their commander. Just as she was about to pull the trigger another gunshot flew past her, embedding itself into the stairs, just centimeters away from her leg.
"Sh*t!" she muttered. They'd discovered her postion. As if on queue the wall she was hiding behind was showered with bullets and lazers. The plsating heart in her chest wasn't helping at all as she felt it push her foreign lungs towards her ribs. The pain was almost unbearable but she didn't so much as wince.

The gun was raised once again and a mere second later a shout and a loud thumpsignalled her the early demise of one particulalry buff soldier, who rolled down the stairs and landed on the doormat in a bloody broken heap, wheezin and asping for air. A homicidal smile spread upon her lips and Aizel, continued her ministrations to the REPO team. Only five or six members were left now and they were all scattered around or inside the house. She waited with held breath and looked around catiously motioning for the three teens to keep quiet.

Listening to the darkness, Pixle lowered her head a bit, taking a step back, though right as she did, a door burst open, one large soldier blocking the exit and grabbing her shoulder.
"AIE!" she yelped, trying to fight back, to no avail. "Kid run!" she yapped at Mason, jerking at her arm, grinning a bit, she detatched from the prosthetic-though it was nothing short of beyond painful- and in one quick move, she swing her leg around and made contact with his lower ribcage

Stifled voices echoed through Charlie's head. The light patter of feet swerved to his left. A cresendo of heavy footsteps followed. Repo teams usually constisted of twelve to fifteen men. Charlie calculated that ten had been killed, leaving five still in the house. Eyes watering from the cloak of smoke, he continued to scrabble across the floor. His hand connceted with muscle and bone. Butch fingers grabbed his collar, and jerked his neck to the floor. Warm breath in his ear whispered something inaudible. Before falling limp, the another hand sliced into Charlie's leg. The warmth of blood spilled down his calf, but Charlie ignored it. Unsheathing the handgun in the Repos holster, he discharged a series of bullets. Two simultaneous thumps smacked the ground. Two out of five.

Mason tugged at Pixle's sleeve.
"I told you to hide! I told you to hide! They're outside." he cried out, trembling and shaking furiously, tears streaming down his reddened cheeks. "They'll get us." he whimpered.

Aizel growled as the REPOs all pounced on the boy. Whatever-his-name-was actually proved to be quite the shooter, he'd eliminated two of the REPOs in a small amount of time. She smirked. Maybe the boy wasn't so useless after all. She was to preocupied into the REPO coming at her, to notice the additional buff man that stood behind her. A sudden jolt of pain ran though her body as a bullet flew right into her left bicep. She was sure that the weapon had hit a bone and had probably shattered it, seeing as blood flew everywhere at the contact. She wasn't in pain whatsoever simply because of the precious Zydrate that she'd just taken. The painkiller didn't simply dull th pain, it made it unnoticeable. The onlky problem she had was her burning lungs and her restles heart.
"Sh*t!" she mumbled again, turning around swiftly and sending a bullet right between the man's eyes. "F*cker!" she growled at him, already reloading her gun to shoot the next REPO in row.

The weight of a man's boy, forced Charlie's chest into the ground. Sucking in a noisy breath, he sputtered. The unexpectedness of the attack knocked the wind from his lungs. Scrambling for oxygen, Charlie instinctivly knee the man between the legs. Unfazed, the man's hands slithered thier way to Charlie's neck. Closing off his windpipe, the Repo laughed malicously. Smirking ever so slightly, Charlie shoved the man over his body and onto his back. Now Charlie was atop the soldier. Pressing the muzzle of the gun to the man's temple, Charlie uttered a silent goodbye. Squeezing the trigger, the Repo's misreable life had ended. Blood spattered up and coated Charlie's teeth. Jerking his head back, he spat. Aizel cursed like a sailor, picking off a Repo she had in the crosshairs. Pixle had connected with a soldier and was fightinh him hand to hand. The young boy had skittered off to an unknown hiding spot.

As the final good for nothing REPO tumbled to the grond motionlessly, gun still clutched n his hand, Aizel finally gave out a sigh of relief and tucked the gun into her shirt safely, looking around for anymore soldiers. She knew it was simply a matter of time before more REPOs or the police came so she had to act quickly. She was just about to bend down and pick the fairly heavy body of a soldier nearby, whos head lay fifty meters from his bloodied neck, but a sudden whimper stopped her. She turned around to see a small figure hiding standing in the living room, hidden behind one of the walls...

It was Mason. the boy was trembling furiously and whimpering every once in a while. He looked at her with his big blue eyes.

"Mason." she called out to him and hurried over, crouching down and gathering the child into her arms. The boy sobbed into her bloodied chest. A series of whails echoed in the house. Aizel stroked MAson's hair, lulling him back and forth.
"It's okay sweety, it's all okay. The big bad men are all gone." she cooed gentl, lifting the trembling boy up and sitting with him on the couch, lulling him to sleep.

Chocked sobs echoed through the haze of the room. The smoke still clung to the ceilings and walls like jungle vines. Corpses of the Repos lay strewn across the floor, each in various positions. Appendages, detatched from thier owners, were encircled by pools of crimson. Charlie dragged himself to the sitting position and began to tendo to his leg. Tearing the sleeve from his shirt, he fashioned a make-shift tournicate to stop the bleeding. Glancing up, he noticed Aizel had softened and was rocking the young boy to sleep. Her voice was silky and harmless as she convinced him everything was going to be just peachy. Pulling himself to his feet, Charlie limped to the worn couch. He plopped down next to Aizel, and sighed. 'Nice work, it I didn't know better, I'd think the Repos trained you themselves,' he replied, with a slight chuckle. Hiking the leg of his pants up, he prodded at the bruises. 'Before the ambush cut you off, you were saying something about your scar... How did you get it again?' he asked, directing his gaze to her dark eyes.

Looking at him warily, Aizel stood up and placed the already sleeping Mason on one of the armchairs nearby, returning shortly to si down next to the boy. She chuckled loudly.
"You ain't so bad yourself." she praised, rubbing her shot shoulder and relaxing into the hard material of the couch. She just now remembered about their short conersation and glanced at the scar again. Her eyes hardened as memories flooded her mind.

The faithful day, she'd never forget. She knew all too well what had happened and why she had gotten the scar but decided to play dumb all of a sudden.
"Motorbike accident. A moron bumped into me on the five street highway down the road and I flew off the seat." she quickly lied. "They say miracle saved me." she made sure to spice the story up a bit and gave a reassurig sheepish smirk.

'Oh,' Charlie replied. Knowing the truth might send Aizel over the edge, he played along. 'I had a bike myself before the Repos confiscated it. It was a colbalt Ducati. Killer tourque and throttle!' he quipped. Slinking back into the plush couch, Charlie sighed. 'Your last name is Tylk, correct?' Beging to contemplate his options, he regretted asking her. The truth was bound to bubble to the surface sooner or later.

@inkstep DUUUUUUUUUUUDDDEEE!!! 😱 Come online!

Aizel's eyebrows shot up to her hair. She threw Charlie a wary look and frowned. She hadn't done anything to reveal her name, there weren't any signs around the house, the documents, all of the documents were safely hidden out of the boy's reach so how, in the world, could he have known that?
"Why do you know this?" she asked coldly and cautiously.

True, the boy didn't seem like a REPO or a traitor but she knew all too well that looks could be very decieving. After all, at the first glance, noone would ever guess that Y'miel liked cooking, for instance. The boy might've been hiding behind a fake identity all this time, but then how would that explain what he did, he fought alongisde with her after all. And when she'd tended to his wounds, he could've easily stuck a knife in her back but he did no such things.

So... that meant that he was probably intending to get closer to her and reveal everything about her before making his move. She knew all too well that with her strenght, she could overpower him if she put every ounce of effort that she had. He probably didn't want to risk it...

Sighing, Charlie rubbed the base of his skull. 'Aizel, I have something to tell you. Don't let this change anything between us, eventhough we really don't have a relationship, persay.' Pausing for a moment, he gathered his scattered thoughts and began again. Her coal black eyes trained on his own. 'I cannot recollect all the details, but I can offer you my portion of the memory. It all started a few years ago, I hit my family hit a rough patch. My mother needed sevral organ trasplants and we were tight on cash. Like a good chunk of teens, I turned to stealing Zydrate. In a matter of days, I paid off the surgries and our family debt. Following our sudden influz of income, my mother was terminated and the Repos arrested me. My execution was set for a week later. I woke up in a cold sweat that morning, believing it was my last. At 8:05, I stood before the firing squad, head bowed in shame. To my mother and the other grave robbers. Then the tides turned. Something clipped my head and darkness rolled in. I though I had been done in. I awoke two a heavily sterilized white room, the smell of chemicals and Zydrate stung my nose. I could only see from one eye as gauze bandaged my face. A nurse shuffled in with a somber look. She told me a man named Tylk, who had died that morning saved my life. The Repos had a last minute change of plans...'

'The day I 'died', so did Tylk. The doctors mannaged to salvage part of his brain, which was conviently the peice the Repos had blown outta my head. I was more useful to them alive rather then dead, so they agreed to do the life saving transplant. After I recovered, the cold heart-less b*****ds, trained me like one of thier own. I was already pretty handy with a weapon, but they refined my skill and helped build my tolerence for blood.' Charlie panted, then continuded, 'After year, the put me into combat. I killed someone. Innocent, not much older than him,' he whipsers, pointing at the child. 'That was the final straw. I left, and then they created a phony story that I was behind on payments. I guess the story was techinially ture, because I did owe the Repos my life. I've changed; I'm not a Repo. Please, trust me Aizel.' His blue eye welled with tears of honesty. 'Oh, that scar...' he added silently, 'Steadman family burial plot. October 18th, 2062.'

Looking at him with cold, hardened eyes, Aizel turned away from his moist eyes, redirecting her piercing gaze to elsewhere. She took a deep breath, licking her lips and calming herself. She'd expected something else, a curse or a joke, even a riggin love confession would've been more expected than this... The memory that she'd tried her best to block. The story that she'd never had the courage to tell her brother. Mason now believed that their father was a hero that died proudly in war of the REPOs. Truth was, he was a simple dirty thief that was shot in the muddy fileds of the soldier camp.

She cautiously looked at Mason, double checking that he was asleep and hadn't heard any of the conversation. She swore to god that if her brother had heard any of that, she wasn't going to hesitate to kill the boy. She ahd troubles involving her composure right now as well. She could barely restrain herself from ripping apart the boy's jugular.

Breathe, she reminded herself. She took deep gulps of air and closed her eys for a moment, urging her mind to go blank and forget the words that still stung in her memory. In a matter of seconds she had calmed down greatly. Now for the convenient lies... here goes....

"I... I know..." she said firmly, trying to sound as casual as possible. The memory brought her pain. It was true that her father had been a criminal but she hadn't known that until the faithful day -7th October.

She took a deep breath again.
"He was... taken from us the previous day. The REPO came and arrested him from grave robbing. The next time we saw him, he was at the morgue and I could barely recognise him..." she remembered with a sigh.

At that same morning she and her brother had been brought to the morgue where the remaints of her father were shown for her to confirm that the body was truly that of Armen Tylk. She hadn't looked at the body, things didn't work that way. Nowadays the morgue wasn't the creepy place where peopple imagined hundreds of icy cold blue bodies, laying in rows and rows. ou were just led into a fancily decorated cabinet with lots of TV screens and you were simply shown only pictures of the body. She had wondered who was the unlucky man who had agreed to take pictures of her father's pitted body.
She had barely lasted a minute before darting out of the door. She'd never admit it, but it was the time when she'd cried, the only time that she'd cried. The tears had dried afterwards. She'd ran out of feelings and emotions aafter that day. The days had turned monotone without her father around.

"...It wasn't your fault anyways, he was determined to die." she made sure to sound as careless and coldhearted as possible. And she had every reason to. Her father's death was the thing that triggered all the other events. The smoking, the killing, her twisted mind was a product of that same event. His death had hit her hard, had ruined her and at that same day, she'd become the monster she was today. A killer, a ruthless one, for that matter. Someone who was capable of overthrowing an army of men...

But also, ...she had to thank that same event for a grea gift... her brother. On the same day, her mother had found out she was execting again. For her mother, it was a curse. But for Aizel it was sign of new hope.

And even though her father was a ruthless killer and thief and criminal, she wished she could have the ruthless killer back so she could have the loving father back as well...
