A mutation has occurred within humans which grant them the ability to fly. People have changed and grown wings. There are four different species of humans now:

Type 1: An ordinary human ie. Arms, legs intact - people as we know today. Cannot fly.
Type 2: Humans with wings instead of arms. They cannot pick up objects because of the lack of fingers etc. Can fly.
Type 3: Humans with wings attached to arms. They have normal arms but there are wings sprouting from underneath their arms. They cannot fly and hold items at the same time. Can fly.
Type 4: Humans with wings and arms separately - like an angel. So they have six limbs (wings, arms, legs). They are considered the most advanced species compared to the rest. Can fly.

There is a lot of discrimination and prejudice between species. For example, Type 4's like to flaunt their abilities to other species. Type 1's are usually isolated from others due to their lack of flight. Type 2's are at a severe disadvantage since they cannot pick up and hold items.

NOTE: All wings are bird-like, meaning they have feathers. (Instead of, say, insect wings or bat wings.)

~Setting~
The world is set in modern times i.e. one with cars, trains, skyscrapers etc. Technology is as we know it today. Type 1's are the most common species so the technology is most suited to them. The country ruled by a monarchy. But the royal family is corrupted and favours Type 4's over other species. The royals have a lot of power and can almost do whatever they want. The royals are usually made up of Type 3's and Type 4's.

There is a secret rebellious underground organisation called the Rebels. The Rebels recruit mostly Type 1's and Type 2's to join their movement, there is the occasional Type 3 or Type 4 although they are mostly treated hostility. The Rebels are against the monarchy and want to assassinate the family but due the high security, it is extremely difficult and dangerous. (One of my own characters will be head of the Rebels.)

You live in the city and regularly see different Types every day.

Appearance: Long brown hair which hangs past her shoulders. Olive skin. Bright emerald green eyes. Wears a dog tag necklace. Has raven black wings with dark blue tips.

Other: Owns a loyal pet raven which always follows her around.

Other: She will sometimes just go out and fly on her own. She loves flying alone in the sky, just her and the clouds. she will fly with others but flying alone seams more peaceful. Gender: Female
Species: Type 4
Personality: Rude and unmannered, results of her troubled childhood, she becomes agressive at the slightest provokation. Infamous for her short temper, she can be as stubborn as a donkey (and often is). Depsite all of that, she is ready to fight with claws and teeth for the people she loves.
Appearance: Petite and athletic with a hint of muscle. Tanned skin, piercing crimson eyes, blood red lips. Shoulder lenght coal black hair and bangs of the same colour. Giant neon blue wings (like that of the Victoria crowned pigeon) come out of her back and she often has two or more neon blue feathers in her hair.

Deep in a bustling city, Dylan paced back and forth in a deserted alley, with his wings stuck firmly against his sides. With his eyebrow furrowed deep in thought, he tried to brainstorm about how to recruit more Rebels. Their numbers were getting low since some reckless Type 1's had started protesting openly.

Lost for ideas, the boy looked up into with an expression of distaste as he witnessed a flock of Type 4's flapped about amongst the skyscrapers. He spat on the ground with disgust at their carefree attitude and directed his gaze towards the heavy traffic of the city and scanned the crowd for any familiar Rebels.

On a green hill Sugar daydreamed about freedom from the Royals however, no rebel would want her to help. She sighed. She saw some other Type 4's and 3's. They looked like her but she was apart from them. They want Royal and she wanted Rebels. Sugar went inside her house. It was small but humble and cozy. It to her was much better then mansons that the Royal lived at.
She sat in a chair at her desk in her bedroom. She lived alone. Sugar ate some Sugar cookies, Her favorite cookies. It made her feel a little better. Now what was her Fate in the Rebels or life?

Sylvia flew into the blue sky, and soared near a skyskraper where other type 4s lounged around. She smiled at them and started playing with her silver ring with black etchings. She sat on one of the stone slabs that jutted out. She leaned back and gazed downwards to see a dark alleyway. An dove flew past, fluttering about before flying away. She stared after it's movements as it turned into a white speck in the horizon. Distracted, the ring fell from her grip and landed with a loud click and clink in the alleyway. She jumped off the slab and spread her black and silver wings out, diving downwards. She landed silently on the buing top next to the alleyway and hopped down to pick up her dropped ring. She didn't notice the boy behind her

Dylan looked up just as something shiny fell down and hit him on the forehead. Instinctively, he brushed the offending object away with his wing and took a closer look at it as it clattered onto the hard concrete.

As soon as the realisation that it was a bracelet hit him, Dylan scowled with anger. A bracelet, indeed! No doubt for hands. He cursed loudly and scanned the sky for the bracelet's owner.

Kelly was rested on a particularly large windowsill of a skyscraper and she was stroking her pet raven. The black bird was perched on her arm and Kelly had to smooth out a few feathers in order to make her raven comfortable.

Sugar went outside and flew to Dylan. She went to see if she had any tasks. At least he liked her. It was nicely windy. She enjoyed her flight. She liked wind in her wings.
