"Wait Lupus!" Something came over Angel and words spilled out of her mouth. "Let me hunt with you. It's always safer when you hunt with another right?" She caught up to him and she smiled.

Skeeth looked at all the other wolves and smiled as he saw his own mate. "I'm so glad I don't have to search for a mate anymore." He went over to his mate and lied down beside her.

Wingtail woke up with a yawn, it was almost dusk. She was making her way to camp, but suddenly she saw Shade stalking a squirrel. She waited until he caught the squirrel, so it didn't run away. "Hey, Shade." she said, grinning at him.

Shade turned around with the squirrel dangling from history and saw Wingtail. He nodded, "Hello Wingtail, what was wrong earlier?" He asked her though the squirrel in his mouth slightly muffled his voice, he dropped the squirrel and repeated what he had said. He cocked his head and was surprised that he was able to speak to someone besides Cinder so calmly.

"Oh.. it's nothing..." Wingtail blushed a little and looked away. Was this her chance of becoming a mother? "No, I shouldn't go so far." She thought, shaking her head. She glanced back up again at Shade. "I was worrying about mating day tomorrow..." She admitted to Shade.

Shade nodded and said, "I think everyone is worrying about tomorrow." He smiled at said, "Once it goes by everything will be back to normal though." He cocked his head and wondered what wasabi was thinking, she didn't seem to be saying everything on her mind. He looked around at the nice scenery and couldn't remember the last te he had actually enjoyed a day.

"True." Wingtail smiled, looking around. "By the way, do you have a mate yet?" She asked, cocking her head. She hoped she wasn't the only one without a mate, which she wasn't. It seemed like Shade was lonely, like her.

Shade shook his head, "I doubt that someone as unsocial as me would have a mate." He said calmly, "Why do you ask? Do you have a mate yet?" He asked curiously guessing that the answer was probably yes. He looked at her curiously and wondered what she was thinking.

"Okay." he said as they both stalked into the forest. Lupus saw some caribou and geese. He nudged Angel with some affection. "It's geese and caribou... How surprising. You take one, I take one?" he asked her.

Wingtail also shook her head. "Sadly, I don't have one." She said, sadly. "How could Shade not have a mate?" She wondered, shocked. He was nice on the inside, but to others, rude and anti-social on the outside. She thought about that for a few minutes.

Shade was surprised, "Really?" His eyes showed surprise and be smiled at her, "At least I not the only one anymore." He said happy that he want the only one without a mate. An idea sparked in the back of his mind br he pushed it away quickly.

Shade nodded, "Yeah I guess but it seems like everyone has a mate and I am the only one without one." He said and then nodded again, "Yeah we should probably get back," he picked up the squirrel. He cocked his head wondering if Wingtail would say more, she seemed to be holding back. "What are you thinking about?" He asked finally.

Lupa yawned. She stretched up and nodded. She was in her den alone. 'Oh shoot, I slept late!' she thought. She padded out, ready to be scolded, but she slipped out of camp to go hunting.

"Um... I-I don't k-know if I sh-should say..." Wingtail stammered, suddenly blushing and glancing away. After a few steps, she finally broke out. "I was thinking if... you could be my mate?" She said, blushing 10 types of pink and red, looking away.

Shade stopped and looked at Wingtail, you couldn't see it because of his black pelt but he was blushing madly. He then smiled and said, "I would love to be your mate Wingtail." He said happily as he looked at the pretty wolf. "I was going to ask you but I was to embarrassed," he admitted.

"Really?" She smiled, amazed and happy. Wingtail gazed at Shade, finally meeting eye contact. "I was also shy and embarrassed to tell you, but I fought over it. But I was glad I asked." Wingtail admitted. "We should go to camp now."

Angel smiled and nodded. "We have to take the caribu out together. I'll get the front you the back?" She slowly made her way to the front and lept grabbing hold of it's neck. She didn't let go and waited for Lupus to get the other side.

Skeeth followed Lupa to where she was going hunting. He jumped on her and smiled. "Hi Lupa!" He smiled and thought about last mating season how he done this and they decided they were made for each other.

Shade nodded, "Yeah I am glad you asked too." He picked up the squirrel happily and led the way back to camp. He felt happier than he had ever been and was happy that he wouldn't be as lonely. He gazed happily at Wingtail and dropped his squirrel in the pile.

Lupa looked up at Skeeth. "What are you doing?" she laughed. She pushed him off of her and smiled. She then sniffed the air. "I smell rabbit!" she whispered.

"I do too! Hey Lupa you know how the beginning of mating season starts tomorrow. Do you want to have pups?" She said yes last time but sadly the pups were dead at birth. Skeeth smiled and tried not bring bad memories.

Shade smiled and shrugged, "If you want to tell the news than we can." He said and nuzzled her. He looked around at the pack and wondered what they were talking about. He smiled at her and waited for her to answer.

Wingtail smiled back and licked Shade affectionately. "I'll tell the news. Soon." She said, wondering if the other wolves will have pups tomorrow. "Are you ready for tomorrow?" Wingtail asked Shade, curiously.

Shade nodded, "Yeah I am ready." He said smiling and noticed that several wolves were looking at him curiously. He knew that they were surprised that he was actually speaking with another wolf besides Cinder. He nodded at the wolves and then turned back to Wingtail.

Cinder walked into camp slowly and saw Shade and Wingtail speaking. She smiled happy for them and then went to sit in the sun. She began to sun herself, she was still thinking. She sighed contently as the sun warmed her fur.

Wingtail smiled at Shade and nuzzled him softly. Then she got up and picked a nice big slab of meat from the caribou. Then she went back to Shade and sat down by him, and started to eat.

Shade began to eat some of the caribou, too, it tasted delicious and juicy. He smiled at Wingtail and said, "I love you." He yawned and laid his head down on his paws, he was tired. He closed his eyes and fell into waking dreams.

"I love you too," Wingtail whispered happily and lovingly. After she was done with the caribou, she laid down by Shade and fell asleep, dreaming happily about tomorrow.

Lupa looked down. She looked back up and nodded. "Yes. Yes, Skeeth, I will have pups with you!" she laughed. She nuzzled him and smiled. "Hopefully we will be luckier this time." she whispered.
