Character name: Autumn "Aykay" Kapelle
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Appearance: Aykay is tall with blonde hair and green eyes. She's not physically fit and she's pale from being indoors a lot.
Personality: Aykay is very impersonal. She sees social interactions as unnecessary and only talks to people if she needs to.
Background: Aykay grew up working in an electronics factory where she was praised for her ability to quickly diagnose problems with equipment, but she wasn't well-known outside the factory she worked in. She spent most of her spare time creating electronic games from discarded spare parts and playing them. She doesn't spend a lot of time around other people outside of work and so she doesn't connect well with others.
District: 3
Skills: Extremely knowledgeable about electronics and is very good at recognizing patterns in both machines and people, so she's good at judging ability. She also has great reaction time.
Other: Despite her reaction time, she is both physically slow and not very strong. She depends on catching people off-guard or out of their element and preys on those weaker than she is.

Thank you for your interest in this roleplay; there are a few things in your form that need to be revised first. 😉

While visual aids are appreciated, please write up a physical description of your character as well. As for the personality, make sure you use complete sentences, since a thorough description can't really be achieved with just a few words. ;] Don't forget to develop a background for her. While she may not be open with her past, family, and other aspects of her life, these things still exist and are important when creating a character.

Textiles is the branch of industry involved in creating cloth. We don't know who will win yet, since I will be randomly choosing tributes to die until one remains. ^^

Three quick questions before I make my next post:

1. Where is the campsite Lauri and Jade ran to? (I'm trying to figure out where things are approximately on the map)

2. Is there anyone near the cornucopia?

3. Is there anything left in the cornucopia?

I tried to figure it out on my own by reading previous posts, but then I realized just how late in the roleplay I joined and there's no way I'll be able to read all those posts without my brain exploding. Lol.

Lol, I skimmed through the entire roleplay thread recently, and my brain almost exploded. e_e The roleplay got off to a very rocky start, and I spent most of the time laughing with Linpug about how ridiculous it got at times. xD

I'm afraid not, but I'll do my best to offer constructive criticism to help you with your form. 😊

The three sections that need revising are the appearance, personality, and background, so I've broken it up into parts.

Appearance:
There are many things that create one's appearance, not just hair and eye color. When describing hair, consider its texture, how it's cut (especially in the front), and how the character usually wears it. As for eyes, pay attention to shape and size, and be specific about shade if it will help the reader picture the character. (If someone's eyes are brown, that should be enough description, but a color such as green comes in many shades, from forest to lime to mint.) Describe the character's height, build, and strength - are they tall, and scrawny from a lack of food? Well-build and fit from doing work? Also note any distinctive features such as a large nose or a pointy chin. Lastly, consider skin shade; those with a district industry that requires working outside might be more tan, and of course there's genetics. A well-written description should be able to let readers envision the character by itself. A visual aid should be just that - an aid, to help others further picture them. ;]

Personality:
While descriptive words are useful, they are much more powerful when they're used in sentences and not one-sentence lists. ^^ Always ask until the last why - why is the character shy? Why are they caring? And in this case, also ask yourself, under what circumstances are they like this? Are they always shy, or do they open up when around their friends? Do they even have friends, or do they avoid interaction with others? How does their behavior change when they're angry, excited, or sad? Is there anything specific that evokes these emotions in them? As you can see, describing someone's personality often involves asking yourself questions about them and delving deeper into their motivations and goals. Also consider their past, as it often has a large effect on someone. (:

Background:
Background, in my opinion, is one of the most important parts of a character because it shapes who they are. Even if they don't reveal it to anyone, or even if they don't know it themselves, it is important for you, as a writer, to know it. (: When writing a character's background, I consider three main things: family, daily life, and history. As for family, ask yourself about their siblings and parents and what your character's relationship with them is. Think about what they do on a daily basis and how it affects their life. Do they do a lot of work? Get enough to eat? Their history doesn't have to be dramatic, but it is definitely worth knowing. Even if their past is relatively mundane, write about it. C: Their background also determines their skills; knowledge of plants and skill in archery don't simply come to you. Maybe they spend time in the forest gathering plants and hunting animals, or their parents passed down their knowledge to them.

Remember that although you might know your character well, we can't go inside your mind, so you'll have to do your best to describe them for outsiders. ;] Since this is a literate roleplay, I need to see how well you can write, and this form is like your application. Do your best! 😊
